Or do you think you are equal to him in intelligence and or wisdom? Make your case.
I doubt that anyone thinks they are smarter than God. Either they don't believe in him, which makes the question irrelevant to them, or they believe that God is more wise than themselves.
I would submit that those who appear to think they are smarter than God are most likely merely expressing disagreement with those that claim to speak for Him.
And I don't see anything wrong with that.
Apparently you also think you can thwart the observations of cosmology and the laws of physics, as inherent in your statement is the presupposition that the Big Bang came from nowhere, or that there was no Big Bang.Yes. I am also smarter and wiser than Gandalf, Belgarath, Owl, Q, Merlin, and a whole host of fictional characters.
It's the Christian image of God I find fault with. This whole subforum is full of people who in one way or another seem to find fault with God.

The type that's stupid enough to respond to a troll.
If you want to find more people to mock God with, there are plenty of secular humanist websites that contain forums where you can do that. Unless, of course, you enjoy targetting a Christian website where you know Christians will see it.
Have a nice day.
Do you think that you are smarter than Cthulhu, or are you equal to him in intelligence and wisdom? Make your case.
eudaimonia,

You say that if we do not know what happened to the Big Bang that we can assume that it came from nowhere. It is more reasonable to conclude that the Universe came from something and that it does not violate the simple laws of causation. Whatever that cause is, we call it God. You can debate Its nature, but its existence is very hard to deny.We don't know what the laws of physics were prior to or at the moment of the Big Bang, so applying the observations of present-day cosmology and the laws of physics to the problem of the genesis of the Big Bang is all but worthless.
Think that sounds suspiciously convenient? Now you know how non-theists feel about the "God did it" excuse.

I don't see a necessary correlation between being smart and being a good guy. The Christian god may be the smartest thing in the universes, but this doesn't mean he can't be the cruelest thing in the universe. And because he is, he deserves every rap that's given him. Of course, if you contend that no smart god would be a cruel god, then actions do speak louder than descriptions and god would therefore not be as smart as would like to think. This whole subforum is full of people who in one way or another seem to find fault with God. I offer them a thread to voice their opinions.
That's a terrible interpretation of cantata's remark. Sheesh! Reading comprehension, man. Reading comprehension! You say that if we do not know what happened to the Big Bang that we can assume that it came from nowhere.
Yup.It is more reasonable to conclude that the Universe came from something and that it does not violate the simple laws of causation.
The "we" obviously being theists. No problem, but it hardly equates to a god with the properties laid on "him" by Christians---gender being one of them.Whatever that cause is, we call it God.

I'm hoping Christians will engage people who think this way.

I'm not sure that's true. I don't think it makes any sense to compare intelligence with something that doesn't exist. It's more likely people consider themselves smarter than God based on his actions as described by believers.Atheists believe they are smarter than God because they do not believe He exists.
