Hi Moises , I guess I got lucky this cold didn't last too long because today I'm starting to get my energy level back .
I went out and bought all the stuff needed to make some good healthy chicken soup , guess I'll make it anyway just in case it decides to return .
They say chicken soup is the best thing for any cold , my backup medicine.

Those Mags I have not seen before , I'll have to look into that . Just about everything I have learned in the past five years is from other people who are into electronica music and who are very good at creating that type of music .
I would say 80% of what I know now has been self taught , alot of failures to get where I am now and I'm still failing in some areas .
Like God teaches you have to fail before you can walk , the best of men who create anything good fail 100 times over .

Thanks for your prayers , chat later its time to make some dinner .

James

Hey James

I'm very happy to know you're already feeling better . Sometimes colds can come and go pretty quickly like that, and because it's not 30 degrees outside probably helps too.

That is very good to know all you've learned has been self taught. I think i started out that way, Then i started reading tutorials online. Then i bought a couple of producing books like; Cubase sx power, The Mixing Engineer's Handbook (Very helpful), Music theory for computer musician, and 2 of those little Paul White books (one is called "Basic Mixing Techniques) which are very helpful. Paul White is a very knowledged guy when it comes to anything related to this subject. He even has a page devoted to 1 subject in every month's Sound on Sound Mag.
But yes, we are going to fall/fail many times when it comes to producing. It's learning through errors. But it makes us all the better for it.

God Bless

I play in an acoustic duo that started in 2004. We both play guitar and sing. We've dabbled with full-band stuff (drums and bass) but never really were able to get the right group of people together.

I would probably place myself in the "alternative" category although I feel like that descriptor is so broad that it almost doesn't mean anything. I love lots of ambient, instrumental music like The Album Leaf, This Will Destroy You and Explosions in the Sky. I probably draw a lot of inspiration from bands such as Mumford and Sons, Manchester Orchestra and Switchfoot.

Songs can be found here in the music tab.

Thanks for sharing your talent's and beliefs , we all live in the same world but not all of us have the same beliefs or share them in the same way .
Myself I do not attend weekly church but I do believe in God and what is taught in the bible and try to live in this world treating other people like Christ would want me to treat them .
For myself and I speak for myself I strongly believe in faith , without my faith given to me by God I would not be where I am now in my music and in my life .

God Bless everyone here and you !

James, I know exactly what you mean. Dragging yourself around when you actually want to be functioning and working on stuff. So i hope to hear "Lazy Sue" When you finished giving it the last touches. I'd love to hear it. You said that it's a chill out song?

It really is. I remember when Nirvana and Pearl Jam were classifies as Alternative. This was back before we felt the need to have sub-genres for everything. Now there are so many classifications of music that it makes my head spin.

Hi Moises , sorry for the slow slow reply this week . That cold turned into a chest cold so I have been in the not feeling too good mood , I did finished that song and started on a new song project with lyrics and me singing vocals .
Lazy Sue is very laid back easy listening where my newest song project is leaning more toward heavy rock I guess you might say .

Its not a christian song its more or less a song about the war against drugs and crime and what can happen if you get caught up in the hellish mess . The lyrics are dark but very straight forward and tell you like it is when dealing with the enemy of God on the streets at night .

Anyway I been busy working on that song project , creating the music , lyrics and working with my vocals for the song .
I'll have to see if I can post a link , not sure if I reach the fifthy post reply limit yet .

God Bless chat later my friend - James

Hey James
oh wow, that sounds like a real deep song. it could make a lot of people think about their lives and the lives they're leading. That's good, i think we need more music like that today. So i'm going on a trip tomorrow to my homeland (Brazil). So i'll be with family and stuff, and always doing something. So i don't think i'll be online down there that much. But i'll try to come in here and say hello on my down time or late at night when i'm at my family's apartment and just relaxing before bedtime.
I'm really excited about your new song dealing with the drug war. It's such a complex topic and people are really devoted to the way they think on the subject. Congrats

I want to make two recordings of piano music sound like they are being heard from an old radio a few feet away (sort of like a memory I guess). I know there are many ways to do this. I do not have any music editing programs on my PC. Which ones should I get (preferably free) and what do I need to do to the mp3 file?

If one of you would like to do it yourselves, I can send the mp3s to you and you can do it I guess.
