I like certain tattoos. On women not at all, but that's my preferance. But I may get one someday when I've considered all my options. Nothing obnoxious or overdone, but something nice.

i know were not suppose to have any graven images, but I do love tattoos, i myself have 5, and I want more. I don't like the gaudy tattoos, although some people think all tattoos are gaudy. But to each there own. i guess this is just one way i give in to the world around me

You have to understand the context of this.... In some versions it says piercings and cuttings of the skin..... this was written because at the time things like that were used to show paganism and virtually satanism.... well thats my understanding of it....

I myself have a small tattoo with my last name on my back and will be getting some soon.....

I dont think tattoos are biblically wrong as i have been there with a group praying for someone and the holy spirit filled his tattoo with colour before our eyes..... !!!!

You can infer from this that it is what you do and what is in your heart that matters-not what you look like.

Of course, your body is supposed to be treated as the property of God/a temple/etc., but I'm of the opinion that it's fine as long as it's healthy.

Tattoos were indeed used by pagans as a sort of ritualistic practice. Tattoos were used almost exclusively by pagan tribes and nations. They are still used to show paganism and satanism even today:

What are the most popular tattoos? Tribal tattoos. Here's an example of one...

If the origin of the practice is to promote paganism, then why would it be any different today? That's like saying the pentagram can be a Christian symbol.

NOTE: It's true that not everyone gets openly satanic tattoos, but the practice itself is undeniably of the occult, imo, and a warning against it is in Leviticus (the passage I posted earlier)

I'm fine with tattoo's but I personally wouldn't really consider getting one. It's permanent and I'll rather just get a temporary one if I feel the need. Sometimes things look good now but when you're much older it might not look so good anymore.

In my personal opinion, tattoos are great, if done well. And as long as they're not blasphemous then I see no problem with them. Getting an inscription of a Bible verse on my left forearm when I'm able to.
