Yes....basically false.Verses...hmmm...
Sealed with the Spirit, believe will never come into condemnation, have everlasting life.... etc etc.
Basic stuff man. Bassssiiicc.
The only way you can know you are saved is when you get the witness in your spirit that you are genuinely converted to Christ. The Scripture says that our spirit witnesses with the Holy Spirit that we are the children of God. I believe that this comes when we have been transformed by the Holy Spirit. I don't believe it comes just when a person decides to accept Christ. It comes when Christ accepts him - and the evidence of that is a total transformation from sin to holiness, from Satan to Christ, and from the world to the kingdom of God, along with the inner witness of the Spirit witnessing with our spirit that we are now born again and are children of God.
With his drawing me so strongly, how can I know if it's really me choosing Him or not...? Maybe that's what I'm fighting IDK...? I could lose myself maybe, and maybe I fear that, the kind of thoughts it gives me pertaining to losing yourself completely... Not knowing fully and completely what I would be surrendering myself to, that kind of thing...
Thank You Very Much!
God Bless!
Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." (Performance based Salvation) But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’" (that is, to bring Christ down) "or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Salvation by faith apart from works)
Thank You Very Very Much, I really like her...Hi friend, I was looking to find you somewhere, so I could share this song with you, and this is where I found you, my fond friend, and John 15 NIV
Do you have to keep confessing sin through out your life to be saved?
I believe based on the Bible that the answer to this question would be a resounding.... "Yes."
This is based primarily upon 1 John 1:9
(But we can see it expressed in other verses in the Bible).
What do you say?
And can you support your belief on this with the Bible?
If so, then please provide the verses.
Thank you.
Oh, and also please vote in the poll, too.
Thank you.
And may God bless you all this fine day.
Side Note:
The poll options only allow me to say so much.
I wish I could add more words to the poll options but I cannot.
Anyways, it is implied that if you confess sin, it is also required that you have:
(a) A belief in Jesus and
(b) To confess those sins to Jesus.
(b) A Godly sorrow as a part of confessing sins.
If you disagree, then vote in the option that says, "Yes (Other, - please explain)"
If you voted wrong or if you feel you have changed your mind on this topic at some point, you are free to change your vote in the poll. Thank you; And may God bless you.
Very well put.Continuing to call sin for what it is is not a condition for salvation but rather a characteristic of those who have been saved. 1John 1:9 doesn't speak of confessing as an event. It's not in the aorist tense but in the present tense speaking of a lifestyle. The major theme of 1John is identifying those who have been born of God and distinguishing them from false Christians as diagnosed from their lifestyle, that which they typically do. Those who have been born of God typically call sin for what it is. These are they who sins have been forgiven and who are being cleansed from all unrighteousness.
In contrast many a salvation by works Christian thinks that one loses salvation each time you sin and you gain it back by confessing sin - And thus a revolved door scenario for salvation.
I almost rated that funny but caught myself. Your candor is refreshing. Of course you are going to encounter things in life, make mistakes, want to set something right you didn't previously realize was wrong. Paul called Peter a hypocrite, that's not a nice thing to say to a senior Apostle. But Peter was treating Gentile Christians differently when his pious Jewish friends were around. Peter could have been resentful and shouted how dare you! He didn't, he checked his behaviour and later referees to Paul as his dear brother. Rebuke a fool and he will hate you, rebuke a wise man and he will become wiser. Peter took his medicine and got over it, I expect appreciating Paul's candor.Verses...hmmm...

No, you continue to confess your sin throughout your life because your saved. Grace works repentance not the other way around.Do you have to keep confessing sin through out your life to be saved?

And God might say, "all in my own good timing" and not what or when "you say", you keep the faith for awhile... And preach the right gospel...No, you continue to confess your sin throughout your life because your saved. Grace works repentance not the other way around.
Exactly, it's a relationship, religion is secondary. When Abraham heard the promise he laughed, when Sarah heard the promise she laughed, when Isaac was born his name that God chose meant 'she laughed'. The one who makes the promise is faithfull. Confessing our sin as it comes to light isn't required for salvation, it is salvation. It's as much a part of sanctification as it is justification. We live to honor the one who brought us out of darkness into the light. We can curse the light and flee to the darkness or curse the darkness and flee to the light. That means repentance, but it's the only way to recieve more light. And God might say, "all in my own good timing" and not what or when "you say", you keep the faith for awhile... And preach the right gospel...
Till you get there, or if you ever get there (in this life, this world), you continue to put your faith and hope and trust and reliance in and upon me, no matter what, for that is your calling...
And pray... Humble yourselves and pray as much and as often as you need to and whenever you need to, just make sure you do it... Keep a line of communication with me, and "allow" me to help you (along the way)...
And then we'll see what happens...
God Bless!
I say "regularly" and leave the interpretation of that up to the believer...If a Christian wants to confess all of his or her sins every day, that's fine, but it's not required.
The level and frequency of your humble, honest prayer though, and or your frequency of communication with Him, or how humble and honest and I guess "true" you are being, or (your) "prayer" (life) (which does not have to be all about sin BTW) will probably maybe reflect the depth of the intimacy of your personal relationship with Him (though) maybe...?I say "regularly" and leave the interpretation of that up to the believer...
But we do not want to become too "sin conscious" either, for there is a danger in that as well...
God Bless!
It's not he overwhelms you all of the sudden, although he is probably capable of doing that, if he so willed, but he doesn't overwhelm you with some kind of feeling all the time, it's like were building intimacy with him over time it grows and matures and develops, slowly at first, but we have to "build it" (build it and he/they will come) (movie) Anyway, you build it together, you and God, Anyway, and He does not speak constantly, at least, not to me, but sometimes, with sometimes very few words sometimes, (But they were just what I needed to hear) (another movie), it's like were "building it", on the foundation and laid with the cornerstone which is Christ Himself...The level and frequency of your humble, honest prayer though, and or your frequency of communication with Him, or how humble and honest and I guess "true" you are being, or (your) "prayer" (life) (which does not have to be all about sin BTW) will probably maybe reflect the depth of the intimacy of your personal relationship with Him (though) maybe...?

Only for mortal sins, that is to say, for sins that interrupt one's relationship with God.Do you have to keep confessing sin through out your life to be saved?
It's funny how comments on the most serious subjects can make us LOL. These words in your post did that: 'That's why sin makes me feel very nervous, and I talk to God about my sins all the time so there are no surprises when I get to the judgment.'That's why sin makes me feel very nervous, and I talk to God about my sins all the time so there are no surprises when I get to the judgment.
