Bible prophecy says this man who exalts himself above all that is called God will sit as God in the temple of God. Some have been taught that this temple is a rebuilt temple but this too is a delusion because the temple in the New testament is God's people, not a building.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God.
This man who claims to be God will sit among the people of God claiming to be God.
