I compiled some verses for a friend of mine who seems to be low on hope. And this started with a verse in proverbs, the first one listed below. Anyways, if you have a sad heart, consider the loss of hope. I HOPE these verses come as a comfort to you in this time.
Proverbs 13: 12a
Hope deferred makes the heart sick
Promises:
 Psalm 33: 18
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
 Proverbs 23:18
There is surely a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off.
 Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
 Romans 15: 4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
 Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Commands:
 Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
 Hebrews 10: 23
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
More thoughts about hope:
 Psalm 119: 116
Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live;
do not let my hopes be dashed.
 Psalm 42: 1-6
As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
My tears have been my food
day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"
These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.
Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
 Psalm 119: 116
Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live;
do not let my hopes be dashed.
 Isaiah 40: 27-31
Why do you say, O Jacob,
and complain, O Israel,
"My way is hidden from the LORD ;
my cause is disregarded by my God"?
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
 Romans 5: 1-5
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us
