  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you ever play games just to get the Achievement points?

Do you ever play games with the goal of improving your achievement score (for those on the xbox) or whatever the equilivent is for the PS3?

I have to admit that I do occassionally do things to gain some points but a lot of games tend to award you for playing the game through anyway. which leads onto the question having got all the achievements do you ever play the game again?

Yeah, depends on the game, and on the achievements. Ones that encourage you to re-explore a large game and get the most of the content are the best, imo - Fallout New Vegas is a pretty good example, some of the achievements are related to the main quests, not all of which I completed on my first playthrough.

Depends on if you're rewarded for doing them... I generally don't do it for the PS3 trophies cause no one really ever sees them and a lot you get just by getting so far in the game which is stupid and pointless... makes all the other trophies seem less valuable and not worth getting.

The only time I actually liked doing the extra achievements is like in the Zelda games where you can get life pieces to increase your health, or like in Batman Arkham Asylum... the little Riddler challenges were fun to figure out how to get. Even though you got nothing really great for getting all (a recording of the riddler being arrested - big whoop), it was rewarding enough trying to figure out the challenges...
