I hear what you are saying about the cheap parts, but that's exactly what upsets myself and my clients. A brand new piece of equipment dying within a year. They don't appreciate the fact that that is what they wanted, what they ordered. They don't appreciate that you get what you pay for. They blame me for selling them low end junk and it reflects poorly on my business.the Colonel said:I think that used to be a problem, but anymore there are so many manufacturers of computer parts that you can buy a Cd-rom drive for $20, for example. If it goes out after 9 months, so what. It was $20! It's a throw-away.
I think there are now plenty of good-quality/low price manufacturers now-a-days. The only difference high-price makes now is if you want the latest/greatest, otherwise you can settle for very good at much cheaper prices.
For myself, I don't want the part kaffing on me in nine months. I don't want to have to pull my computer apart to have to replace it. That isn't fun for me. I just want to sit down and enjoy my puter. I want it to be fast, compatible and reliable. That's why I spend the extra money. I buy the 10,000 RPM harddrive, the Asus mainboard, the OCZ RAM, all the quality products that will give my machine performance and reliability. It makes it so much more enjoyable
