  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you agree that christians should keep the 10 Commandments? (4)

No, I do not pay tithes. I am not required to tithe for several reasons.

I am not taking away from the Word at all.

Acts 15 is not about circumcision of the heart. I suggest you go back and study that chapter more carefully.

The Council was wanting the new Gentile converts to be circumcised after the manner of Moses (the flesh of the foreskin, not the heart ref. Gen 17) AND to keep the law of Moses. They wanted the converts circumcised and ordered to keep the Mosaic Law.

And the Holy Spirit said "NO"

First off, grace and commandment are taught together in the NT. Someone needs to do the heavy lifting. You think i like being accused every day of being a law pusher? Its easy for you because you take the easy message and im forced to carry the burdensome task of picking up the slack. The holy Spirit rejoices in the truth and thats all i post. Maybe you should be careful about who you say is resisting the Holy Spirit.

I'm not SDA. Why don't you have "hater of God's law" as your faith icon? The accusation about what sin is came from Paul. Paul said that sin is transgression of the law. If you have a problem with that, just tear that from your bible and go make yourself an idol to bow down to.

And for your question about your "non-religious" friends.
"For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another" - Romans 2:14-15

Circumcision of the heart doesn't appear in Acts anywhere. You may be referring to Romans 2. Your statement shows that you're just saying stuff you heard. Well I'm not real sure bout cause you probably have circumcised ears to go with that circumcised heart. Paul isn't pro circumcision. In fact he is quotable as saying circumcision profits one nothing. In fact he even calls his dung. How could anything apply to both the circumcised and the uncircumcised such as faith in regards to salvation?

What are you doing? First you guys said all the law was dead. Then you said fornication and adultery were not forbidden in the NC. Much like the theory of evolution, your theory keeps evolving as the data comes in disproving that theory. As we dig deeper into the rhetorical fossil record of the word, theres no sign of the "missing link" and the theory keeps evolving.

No one said that circumcision had anything to do with salvation. Acts 15 is referring to the circumcision of the flesh in reguards to salvation and is said to profit nothing for salvation. Obeying God is the fruit of salvation, not the root. The root of salvation (if you have been reading all of the posts, you would know) is believing in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. The fruit of salvation is walking in his righteousness. His righteousness (that unregenerated man could not do because of the hardness of his heart) is found in his commands. Paul doesn't call the law dung. He calls his fleshly attempts at righteousness dung.

Please explain. Here is what God's Word says - But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

As far as taking it easy I'm from the south and a Yankee too. But NTL listen to Jesus, He offers the easy way - 28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

It certianly suits me just fine. Thanks. You can take the hard way and lose. It is guaranteed and by Jesus Mat 5:20.

First I said your post was classic SDA. I didn't say you were.

Second sin was in the world prior to the law - Rom 5:13

Third the law was added because of sin and has expired because the Seed came - Gal 3:19

Fourth we're delivered from the law - Rom 7:6.

Fifth we're told to throw the law out - Gal 4:30.

Sixth truth and grace came by Jesus Christ and not the law - Jn 1:17.

Seventh the Christian isn't under condemnation - Rom 8:1.

Eight The law I subscribe to is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus - Rom 8:2

Ninth the Spirit does what the law could never do - Rom 8:3

Tenth Jesus said that the righteousness of the law won't qualify you for eternal life Mat 5:20. Then this whole thing is not sequitir. Did the gentiles observe the sabbath? No and I'm not speaking of the proselyte. If so why do we have Roman 14 an col 2:16? Did the Gentiles practice circumcision? If so what was the issue over the Jews who had no authority demand it? They weren't even authorized to demand anything else of the law from the Apostles per Acts 15.

You sure are pushing the SDA mantra whether or not you're affiliated.

You said the same thing about me. According to your definition the majority of Christians would be SDA. You really seem to like labels. Did you get your law hater icon yet?

1. Well done.
2. There are many Easter traditions, which one are you referring to?
3. No
4. No, I don't celebrate the New Year. I don't celebrate the first of February, the first of March, the first of April, the first of May, the first of June, the first of July, the first of August, the first of September, the first of October, the first of November, nor the first of December.

Any more questions that have nothing to do with the topic of this thread?

So who did call the law dung? It wasn't Paul and it wasn't me either.

What does obeying God mean as if I don't know? It seems to me you're saying 2 different things. You is jus messin wid me. Ain't ya?
