Do we love God?

Therefore, do we love God, if we:
1) refuse to forgive others as God forgave us?
2) have hate, greed, revenge, pride and lust in our heart?
3) refuse to sacrifice our own interest in order to bring healing to those who hurt and betray us?
4) refuse to stay faithful to our marriage covenant when there is hurt and betrayal?[/FONT]

I've had the same question you do and this is how I feel about it. I know some will disagree but that's fine. We as humans are not perfect. Whether we like it or not we will sin and make mistakes. I think what matters is how we feel after we make a mistake or we sin. If you feel guilty and come to God and ask for forgiveness than I do feel that the person love Him because you feel as though you have hurt someone who cares for you which you don't intentionally want to do. On the other hand if you sin or make a mistake and have no remorse for it, then I feel there is no love for God.

A little background as to why I feel this way:

I had a family member who sinned constantly. He admitted that he knew the things he did was wrong but said he didn't care because it was what he wanted to do. He had no thought for God, his family or anything else. He lived for the moment of satisfaction and nothing more.

God IS Love; so before we can love others, we must first receive His Love. on our own strength we can do nothing good; it is only when we yield to His leading that we can truly forgive, humble ourselves to agree with what He says about us as reborn believers, resist the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh, and return good for evil.

Rom 7:12-25 KJV Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. (13) Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
