• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am not praying just for these followers. I am also praying for everyone else who will have faith because of what my followers will say about me. (21) I want all of them to be one with each other, just as I am one with you and you are one with me. I also want them to be one with us. Then the people of this world will believe that you sent me.

not a priority by those who say they are following Him, even though He made it clear that people would believe by witnessing the "oneness" of those who say they are following Him...

It is MORE like oneLESS....

Until we have the scales removed from our eyes and we can see each other as HE sees us......

You will continue to be merely a color and or a gender... and even worse... less than iether one in some cases...

We like er LOVE to give each other lip service.....

True and honest commitment to agape will take MORE than mere lip service...

IF we are ever willing to go out of our "comfort zones" and do what seems unthinkable.. MAYBE we will start to reach the oneness HE requires....

YES, REQUIRES.....

A split is nothing more than segregation if you think about it. There are times we need to separate ourselves from situations and things thats for sure. However, in this case I think we need to keep what we have and follow the none flaming rule more closely. Making a split will not solve the problems we face on this forum. Opening our hearts to the love of Christ and loving each other will.

God Bless

It makes you wonder whether the Internet is included in the places where we are supposed to imitate Christ.
hmmmm you have a point... the internet is treated like a neutral zone of sorts, where you can act as if imitating Christ is an option...

I have noticed this as well, and I think it's sad. People are ugly and hateful to others and then want to hide behind the old "it's just a forum / it's just words on a screen" line. But really is that any different from being ugly and hateful to someone in real life and then saying "sticks 'n' stones..."? I fail to see the difference. "Cyber space" is a SPACE in which people come together and interact, and as such, should be subject to the law of Christ in terms of loving behavior toward our neighbor, even toward the "unlovely" (if we act worse than them what message do we send?) :help:

And then when someone DOES show concern? It is only for matters of "propriety" and "what will people think". Here's what I think: internet behavior mirrors real life, and in some ways exceeds it. People "feel free" to let loose because a computer screen insulates them from having to deal with others as real people. In a very real sense people are MORE themselves online than in real life -- and as an instrument to measure Christlikeness the readings we can obtain from it are distressing to say the least. :(
