Do some, claiming to be Catholics actually hate Protestants?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Don't need to hate 'em just know we're right and they're not. Be nice to get some of our mediaeval buildings back in northern Europe, though.

I have felt hatred by some Catholics here, but they don't hide themselves as you are questioning.

There is no such thing as a Protestant Church that is organised to the point that one protestant from one denomination can't tell another from another denomination that they are wrong, in grave error, and IMHO, actually hate the other. WOF, the Word Of Faith movement and their denominations are a clear example of where some Protestants hate. Most main stream Protestants hate the WOF movement and their denominations. Ususally when these Main stream Protestants get together with Catholics they tend to exhibite great amounts of brotherhood towards one another in opposition to the WOF movement.

They have usually been in response to Protestants starting threads about Catholics. Does that mean that Protestants hate Catholics?

I don't see much genuine hatred on this forum whatsoever. Having heated theological discussions is only natural on a forum discussing theology. Spreading lies about certain churches and beliefs are one thing, but posting about another church's theological stance on a forum called General Theology is certainly another and does not come anywhere close to hatred.
