Do Homosexuals bash Christians?

I am alarmed at your conclusions because if they were implemented I feel they would have a detrimental effect on my life. I feel very passionate about my beliefs too, thus we are in conflict. But I still respect the fact that you want to help me, even if I feel it is misguided. Does that make sense?

i have seen no one here try to discredit the bible in any way. i have seen those who don't believe the bible to be the word of god, but this condition is not exclusive to homosexuals. what i have seen is people sharing their opinions on what certain scripture means, and you may not agree with it, but its dishonest to to label it as trying to discredit it. do you accuse others of discrediting it when they disagree on interpretations of scripture not related to homosexuality?

now this i have a problem with, as its simply untrue and misleading. the bible has changed significantly over the years, with many different translations existing today. one argues that the main points are clear enough and they haven't changed, and to a certain extent this is true, but it could be argued otherwise. but this is somewhat off topic. more importantly, though, your quote is misleading, because it suggests that man's understanding of scripture has remained the same for 4000 years (actually its closer to 2000, but whatever), which is absurd. the different ways that man has understood scripture have varied drastically over the years, even the last few hundred years. this is unarguable.

is it possible that homosexuals, instead of attempting to discredit the bible, are merely coming to understand it differently? our thoughts have evolved regarding our understanding of scripture over the years. are we so arrogant to assume that we have a perfect understanding of it at this point in time? why is your understanding of it any better than theirs? why is it more valid, more true?

Yep. And some think all of the other side has either some secret hate just for homosexuals, while others think homosexuals are on some sort of evil mission to ruin the world. (Or America, and well that mission has been accomplished long ago..) Sad, I tell you.

Because this is a Christian theology subforum, therefore most people are using the only literary source available pertaining to it. And to answer the last question, its easy to disbelieve that God dislikes same-sex sex, but why is it still easy to believe that He provides salvation?

Proof would be nice. It is without a doubt the most accurate set of books that have lasted for as long as they have. Take a look for other very famous manuscripts and you'll see what I mean.

Anything is possible, but I don't think its likely. The reason being that there is no countenance in scripture for same-sex sex. There are some mentions of same-sex sex, but they are all grouped in with other sinful actions, and never taught as something blessed by God. That, along with the straightforward condemnation like in leviticus, is enough to know whether it was God's intention for us to use our bodies in that way. Of course there are those that will argue leviticus, as well as other passages, and through complication try to negate the message. If we are misunderstanding the message regarding this in todays society, then take a look back at the ancient jews. What did they say about same-sex sex?

That's a loaded question. Can you rephrase this so you ask a fair question? Your question is full of negative assumptions about gay people and our goals.

My personal goal in these threads is to encourage Christians to accept us as we are and to support equal rights and fair treatment for gay people. I would never bash Christians, as I am a Christian. I would and I do challenge what some Christians say about gay people, because what some Christians say is nothing but negative stereotypes, and it is isn't true. I am certainly not going to sit back and let some people bludgeon us gay people with negative stereotypes without answering them.....respectfully, of course.

I disagree with you about the supposed accuracy of the Bible, but that's a different debate, and it's off topic for this thread.

Sounds like fun, if you start a thread PM me the link and I'll give my input. The nag hammadi texts (isaiah) truly show the accuracy of biblical transcription, that alone helped dispel the myth about later Christians adding in the prophetic messages about Christ into the text.

The more hate speeches I see from some Christians, I can see why they post the way they do about some Christians.

Not all Christians are obssessed with homosexual sex and condemning others to hell...as if that Christian were God and KNEW what God was going to do...

On these forums? They're just people who have differing opinions. So I would say no one here has any sort of agenda.

In the political world, yep I'm sure gay rights lobbyists and organizations have an agenda just as every group has an agenda. Marriage equality, adoption, stuff like that. However, I don't think their is any agenda to try to discredit Christianity in any way among gay organizations/lobbyists as you mentioned in your OP.

acting homosexuals who claim to be christian do generally have an agenda. They wish for other christians to understand and accept what they do. On the same note, there are others on this side of the debate who have an agenda to defend what we believe are core christian beliefs.

I believe that False teachers, False prophets, and False Preachers are trying to infiltrate Churches and Christian Forums such as this one and worship a False God and false christ.
People can be easily deceived and it is the brief of a Christian to warn others about them.
