• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I don't go to an apostolic church, I don't know. Apostolic churches are Jesus Only like United Pentecostal Churches. I go to a Church of God church. And yes, we believe in demons can oppress christians from the outside but they can't possess people. Anyhow, I was suddenly hit with extreme depression and was very suicidal at work and half out of it one of the times I SI at work. So, SI can be very dangerous, mixed with depression and other mental illnesses.

Hello, I as a cutter do believe it is possible. Like there was the dude in Mark chapter 5 that was demon possessed that cut. But I do believe that you don't have to be demon possessed to have emotional issues. The best thing to do is to just talk to your pastor of your church and to see whether he thinks it needs rebuked or not. I used to rebuke my thoughts a lot of times. To just bring them under the authority of Christ. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. However it is best to talk with your pastor. We all come from different denominations but we are all Christ's. The main thing to remember is that Jesus can heal our emotion issues too and use them for his glory.

I dont think that person was meaning anything bad when they said about deamons. I am a borderline who rages severly and I couldnt understand what was wrong with me and still dont. I thought it was demons or something I even did excorsisms on myself and now I really dont know what is wrong with me but I thought that at first too.
