  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The trio released a statement last week attributing the changes to attempts to "accommodate demand" and said more dates might be added next year.

The group also said the adjustments will allow them to promote the documentary "Dixie Chicks: Shut up and Sing," for the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Hehe, I wouldn't say that their popularity is waning. I'd say their appeal is becoming more selective. :)

Now, that's a real shame;)

Yeah, such an awful thing to criticise the president of the home of the brave and the land of the free, they get their right whack for taking that stuff about free speech as if it actually meant something.

Of course it means something.
They exercised their free speech rights and no one stopped them, no one is trying to stop them. If the public chooses not to purchase tickets to their performances, they are well within their rights to do so. Freedoms go both ways. I never thought they were so terrific to begin with; so their unfortunate choice of venue to exercise their freedom of speech has no bearing on my not purchasing their music.

Absolutely right, no question about it, and I wouldn't even dream of disagreeing. I suppose I put that little comment in at least partly in the context of the death theats they apparently got, and the fact that a lot of people did think they were terific, but the ####*fell out of their audience as soon as they expressed an unpopular (in some quarters) opinion in the presence of strangers.

Me neither, but I HATE country music, so I don't care to know any of them.

The Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain have made Country accessible for everyone ....

can i totally agree with them & their assertion that GWB is a fool (to say the least) and still hate their music?

because i wouldn't pay a nickel to see them in concert. i can't stand country music. but i totally agree with them.

and for the record, a lot of people around these parts (toby keith's "motherland") think toby keith is a foolish bumpkin too.

It was there comments about contery fans and that song they made after the persidnts aproval ratings went down that made me hate them. That song is basicly them saying "told you so you stupid poeple" and I rember her calling contery fans dum rednecks and said how she wish everyone could think like her.

Thats what made me trully hate the Dixie Chicks

They cancelled a June 1 show at cleveland's gund arena, telling everone one of the chicks was "sick". Truth is she was barfing all over herself and too drunk to play. How do I know this? I worked at the gund at the time.

Their decline in popularity is a result of their own ignorance.
Pray, what do you mean by "ignorance"?

ahahahhhhhh..... If she WAS barking all over herself, she WAS sick right??? right? Right?

Like it or not but there are very FEW people in the world who don't secretly wish (at times) that everyone thought like them.
