Division and strife. Unavoidable. Our world is pretty much made up of division and strife. Division in faiths. Division within a faith. The best thing is to accept that division will happen and don't let it get you down as it is a fact of life.

That is an interesting verse as Jesus prayed make them one as we are one.....

So would it be fair to say much like the limts we have on understanding thier oneness. Those same limits apply to the oneness of the church.

Much like they are so are we, and the prayer of the Lord was effective, even though we are limted in ability to see it in operation.

Jesus' prayer that his Church will be one will not be completely fulfilled until the Second Coming and the Church is glorified. While at this time there is unity in the Church as regards to his people being in one covenant, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one Spirit, etc. there is also sin, false doctrine false teachers affecting the saints, and minds that have not been completely renewed, etc. - so there is some error and thus discord, disunity, etc.

So, this prayer fits into the "now, but not yet" category ... some of it is fulfilled, is being fulfilled, and ultimately will be completely fulfilled.
