  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Some though prefer exclusivity and the idea of being "the only true" ones.... Call it the Elijah syndrome.....

1Kings 19:13-14
And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" (14) He said, "I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away."

1Kings 19:18 But I still have 7,000 people in Israel whose knees have not knelt to worship Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him."

If there is ever a time we as adventist Christians need to be united, it is now. Jesus prayed for His followers that we may be one. One in spirit and one in purpose. To be any other way, is to negate the will of our Saviour.

May the rest of your week be spirit-filled and wonderful.

How true, and hopefully this time there are more than 7000 others whose knees have not knelt to worship Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.......:)

Note that he qualified the 7,000.

Details, details... attention to them or ignore them....

I is ALWAYS the "little things" that "get us"....

Funny, we mostly miss them ONLY when we are too busy looking for things that support our agenda......
