Disheartening...

Well, I've been away from really posting here for a while...but after a bit of time off I decided I needed to post something for your mulling over.

I've been reading around on this websites various threads, looking at the various categories and reading peoples posts. I've read some often times disturbing things out there. There are a whole lot of opinions being expressed by christians that obviously don't line up with biblical teaching. I shouldn't be so startled, but nonetheless, people are eating it up. Sounds like a case of the ear-tickling syndrome.

I even decided to make some posts to try and help others to understand that its important to have a biblical perspective on things, only to be criticized for bringing the bible into life situations? Sigh...I guess the bible has no place in a christian forum... And I guess it doesn't really apply to people's lives, so we ought to just throw it out in favor of someone's opinion.

Oh well. I guess I am living in a dream world where the bible is the authority by which we live, and has just about all the answers we need. If only we read more...

I'd encourage some of those who post in here to check out the other sub forums and threads, just to see what people are saying out there. My guess is you will come back equally as disturbed...:o Perhaps not.

I suppose this is just another reason to be in prayer continually.

I only go to this section, marriage ministry, and gamers zone....so I don't know what I have read soo wierd there. Well, in marriage ministry most people believe that women don't need to submit to their husbands and a number claim to be feminists...and divorce and remarriage abounds in real life as well as on the forums, but I don't recall reading much shocking......

I'd encourage some of those who post in here to check out the other sub forums and threads, just to see what people are saying out there. My guess is you will come back equally as disturbed...:o Perhaps not.

Yes ... its amazing to me how many people call themselves Christians but do not recognize the teachings and commands in the Bible as authoritative.

Yes ... we should pray.

Unfortunately, not everyone who professes Christianity has such high esteem for the Word of God.
Some hold "personal revelation" in higher regard than the Scriptures. Other people I have met in my life use the "Bible of Common Sense" almost exclusively.

Both of these ways of thinking will lead you down paths and to certain conclusions that are different than what a high regard for Scripture will lead to.

So although disheartening, I would say I'm not surprised. In fact, it's almost inevitable...

Perhaps it is the only way they can...a toehold. After being misled by the overwhelming forces that exist to destroy both Christianity and the very thought of God, it is no surprise. They have stolen the minds of our children to replace their hearts with blackness and void.

The exchange is too horrible to contemplate. The apathy and concessions that allowed this chaos is squarely upon the shoulders of mankind. How can it be that what God has offered to us was considered so
lightly that it has seemed less a treasure than deceits and deslusions?

Can it be that it is too late for Jerusalem and that the barbarians storm her gates with the ultimate power to destroy all?

Has God decreed our only and final refuge for our souls no longer in this world, but in His?

Faith, speak comfort to my heart.

I didn't say it was shocking, but disturbing. If we're not willing to stand up against people who are typing away telling people things that are untrue, then why are we here?
