After reading a topic thats locked... it got me thinking:

The apostles Peter and Phillip were crucified by means of inverted crosses.
Why is the inverted cross considered a symbol of satanic persuasian?

I think its a symbol of the strife that the early Christians had to go through and in effect I respect it. Blood rushing through your head can't be that comfortable as all your body weight is stretching the holes of your nailed "hands" and feet.

Opinions?

I just read or heard recently that they chose this method of death because they felt themselves unworthy of even dying in the same manner as our Lord (we can take a lesson in humility from that!). I can't reamember just how I learned this, but I'm looking it up....

As for the inverted cross being a symbol of satanism, I'm not sure exactly, but I do know that most symbols of satanism are symbols of other things which are mutilated or desecrated in some way. Ironically, this is the nature of sin and evil itself. Just as darkness exists only as a deficiency of light, so to sin and evil exist only as the curruption of good things.

Amen.

The inverted cross should then be distributed as signs of utter humility rather than feared as symbols of satanic practice.

I understand what you mean by the perversion of things. In this case it seems its the reputation that has become perverted.
