Discipline [VS] Passion

What do you guys think is more important to your walk with Christ? Discipline in the commandments and rules laid out in the bible, or passion to get to know god on a personal level?

The passion for God leads to discipline.
Attempting discipline without God leads one away from God rather than to Him.

I agree with the above. Following the law simply out of duty is legalism and apparently one of the things Christ died to save us from. Doing what is right is important, but life through the Spirit is more important and will led to right living anyway.

Oh yeah. Legalism is something that Jesus hates, yet so many "Jesus-followers" practice it! Once you get to know God, you become like Him, which is obediance. You become like your friends, or your friends become like you. Jesus doesn't budge on His ways, so you'll become like Him.

Discipline and the Commandments and Laws. You get to know G-d so much more through them than you do just going off of pure passion. If you combine the two, you get the most incredible thing ever.
But, yeah, legalism is no bueno.
