Dinosaurs

Was God experimenting before he made humans? Where do the dinosaurs come into play? Are they mentioned in the Bible?

I think God allows a certain amount of freedom in nature, as He does in our free-will. It seems to me, and this is only my opinion, that He lets things run their course, ie genetic mutations, but will correct and guide them when necessary...

He corrected dinosaurs by allowing a giant asteroid to wipe them out.

There was an article on CNN recently about how plants and animals re-emerged after the asteroid much faster than thought possible. I posted it, but the atheists avoided it like the plague.

The behemoth is a hippo. And the "tail" being compared to a cedar may actually be a reference to a male hippo's genitalia.

Late how do you know that behemoth is a hippo? I had heard that it was a dinosaur before, as is leviathan.

Reading that passage, I envision an elephant (with the tail resembling the branches of a cedar). However, it is usually depicted as a hippo by convention. Personally, I think it could have been either.

The leviathan is, IMO, a whimsical creature that breathes fire. I think it is probably half imagination and half nile crocodile.

You realize that the Chinese characters for dinosaur and dragon are the same? Does that mean that the ancient chinese had direct knowlege of dinosaurs, or that they had a mythological creature which happened to resemble a group of long extinct beasts. Both scenarios are plausible, but only one is supported by the evidence.

The Leviathan is described in Job 41 with great detail. what we call dinosaurs are what are described in the bible as dragons.

I also saw the new fossil found they showed on the news of a new species of dinosaur that has just been found, what I found most interesting about it, was the resemblence the skeleton had to the symbol of the dragon used by vlad the impaler that was shown on the history channel.

This is actually untrue, and the author of that web page should already know that. There is zero fossil evidence that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time. There are no fossil dinosaurs younger than 65 million years, and no fossil humans older than 2 million years.

To believe in a young earth requires faith, and willingness to dismiss the evidence. Many have no problem having faith in a young earth and dismissing the evidence. Others reserve their faith for things they consider more Sacred than the age of the earth, and feel it is important to consider the evidence at face value.

The short answer is "we have absolutely no reason, other than the claim that behemoth is a dinosaur, to believe humans interacted with dinosaurs".

To put it another way, if one person says behemoth and leviathan are dinosaurs, and another says they're animals (probably hippos and whales)... neither has *ANY* supporting evidence, really. Neither claim is inherently more consistent with the Bible. One is more consistent with modern thought about what people in that region would have seen or heard of; the other is less consistent with it.

It's a pretty weak argument for coexistance of men and dinosaurs; we don't know for sure what the word really meant, so any conclusion that it means X cannot be used as support for the belief that X existed to be seen, at that time.
