I find that when I pray, I do not have to have any fancy language or pictures of God...I just relax and embrace His presence. Infact, if you have to think of what you are to pray about, and the right words to say, then you are not praying with the Spirit. He will give you the words to say, and they will flow naturally (or supernaturally) :)

I hope this helps!

Hiya guys. just wanted to ask if any of you had a problem praying. i mean, i so want to pray alot of the time, but find myself unable to do so :( any of you have advice for me?

Also, when you pray, what do you picture? do you picture a portrait of God? I've forgotten how to pray...

Yes, I went through a very lengthy period when I just couldn't seem to pray. I couldn't focus and so forth. At times, I still struggle with it. Of course, during a big share of that time (and even now to some extent) I was/am going through a pretty intense time--that dark night of the soul. Do you have others praying for/with you about this?

I don't try to picture God or anything...I just let it flow. Would it help for you to try writing your prayers. For example, just get a piece of scratch paper and start writing: don't worry about spelling, punctuation or legibility. Just let the words flow from your heart. It does help with focus.

Have you tried praying the Scripture? In the past, I was given a recommendation to always be reading a book on prayer. Each day read a paragraph or two (I haven't tried this yet fully)--I've been blessed by what I've read on prayer.

Hope this helps!
