  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Difference between men and women...

I know that women talk in more detail than men, but do women have a greater NEED to talk than men, too? My bf calls me regularly, but rarely calls me spontaneously unless he's in the area and wants to stop by. I always thought we'd progress to more frequent contact, like throughout the day. I don't know ... Am I being realistic? I am kinda wondering if it's a reflection of his feelings that he doesn't spontaneously call or text. It's taken some work for me to train him to respond when I text (which isn't often) or call. Thanks for any thoughts you might have on this. :)

I can talk on the phone, sure. The last long term gf wanted to talk every day, so 4or 5 days a week we talked on the phone. But I prefer talking in person. I know I can talk either in person or over the phone. I've not had a gf where we used email a lot but I enjoy my web friends. So they are all by text.

I believe men and women speak the same number of words each day.
When I was younger I wasn't that keen on talking on the phone. Maybe it's something like that?

While attending a Dick Parnell relationship seminar, one study stated that wives often complained that thier husbands did not feel like talking after a day's work. Well,it was estimated that the average woman speaks about 20,000 words a day. The average man speaks about 15,000 words a day.

While at work, the average man would speak 14,999 words a day. When he gets home, his wife may ask him,"How did your day go,Honey?" The husband would say "Fine!". You see? When he comes home,he has now reached his limit of words for the day. :)
