CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Personally, I loved Live Free or Die Hard.

Bruce Willis is 55, so in Die Hard 11, terrorist take over the nursing home, and John Mclain must kill or capture the terrorists before nap time.
Die Hard is only as good as long as Willis is the star.
Some are good, like the poll says, 1st and 3rd are best.
When Willia can't continue, Die Hard must end.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.
Agreed, Die Hard without Bruce Willis wouldn;t work.
I think it's also the kind of action movies Die Hard 1-3 were are anachronisms now, and they can't pull them off these days like Die Hard 4 showed. "The Fifth Element" was the last hurrah of those kind of movies.
Plus the character John McClane got too big. In the first movie he was an ordinary-ish guy caught up in a big heist, an "ordinary" guy in extraordinary circumstances.
In sequels the character quickly became the kind of Big Damn Hero the first movie was subverting and he just got more and more like that until by the 4th movie he might as well have played by Arnold Schwarzenneger and be a superhuman crack commando.
My Purist tendencies aside, the second and 4th movies just weren't that entertaining. I disliked Die Hard 4 while 2 was just mediocre.
I voted for 3, but think 1 is the best. They shouldn't have made anymore after 3.

The first should have been the one and only. When it went beyond that the suspension of disbelief was lifted for anyone older than 10 who had a decent IQ.

I think the Die hard series had promise,
but imo they derailed it with 2, and set it on the path of
just another bullet proof hero, that says corny lines before
killing another dozen bad guys.
I believe they could have made a good 2nd, bt they didn't.
Bruce Willis is not Arnold or chuck, or even Bruce, he sells because he was just an average person in a bad postion. When he dodges bullets, or curves them around corners, beats a villain senseless while the villian is holding a gun, it makes him out to be the super hero.
McClain is kind of like a nicer Dirty harry. He could be hurt, physically and emotionally, but he always found the way to overcome all the obsticles, without super-human abilities.
