CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hang in there Kristen. God will provide you with a job. I had the same problem that you described but God moved for me and I have a job now that I really enjoy. Will keep you in prayer.

These days they check your credit for everything. You can't even rent without going through a credit check these days.

It does sound ridiculous, but some employers do it. I would understand criminal background check. I understand them testing for drugs, but a credit check just sounds like snooping to me.
I think they do it just because they can.

I guess they figure that your credit rating is a good gauge of your integrity. Many companies these days do a credit check before hiring a person. Insurance companies also do credit checks. Some won't even insure someone with poor credit and others will make you pay higher premiums.

I work for the government, and they did a credit check on me before I was hired. I also applied for a job through Samaritan's Purse, the humanitarian organization ran by Franklin Graham. They required me to agree to credit check as well. Seems to be a common practice anymore.
