I know the Virgin Mary was (at least according to the Bible) a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. How a virgin can have a child aside, did she die a virgin? Becuase, you know, she was married and (hopefully) in love with Joseph, and I'd find it hard to believe they didn't "get it on" at least once.

This argument could go on forever... it just depends on what denominational response you get... and since this isn't a denominational board, forget about reading denominational answers as you have already received.
In catholicism, Mary, the mother of Jesus was considered to be ever virgin and according to their "traditional" teachings, she had no other children and those brothers and sisters mentioned in the Bible were step children, the children of Joseph and his first wife. None of that can be documented in historic records.
And for the record, in Catholicism, Mary never died, but was assumed into heaven, again, a traditional teaching of the Roman church.
On the other hand, Protestants, not accepting traditional teachings, but accepting the Bible, take the literal translation that the brothers and sisters mentioned in the Bibler WERE other children of Mary and Joseph.
In judiac teachings, it is a requirement for couple to have consummated their marriage else it is nul and void, having never occurred. It is considered a serious transgression for a woman to withhold herself from her husband. Mary was the mother of Jesus, but she was also a Jew, and she either had sex with her husband or she lived a lie in front of her family, her synagogue, and her community.
Take which ever side you chose to pick... this argument will continue until Christ returns.
