I know. Excuses not to listen to what God is telling us about the Earth.we're not here to cater to the world,
That's GODS department,
he sustains everything including the earth.
the "world" isn't meant to be an an Idol,I know. Excuses not to listen to what God is telling us about the Earth.
I'm being honest when I say that I find that very sad. And Glad that I'm not a Christian.
No, he put that wisdom into us. humans were made in his image, not the earth. But God put into the Earth the wisdom needed to take care of her and even how God creates new life forms.
You misunderstood. I said we're not meant to "listen to the earth" we are meant to listen to Christ who has dominion over everything, including the earth. Go back to the OP and read the scriptures. Perhaps watch the video too, if you haven't done so already. And the kind of excuses where we place fault of our not listening to the Earth because it was given to Christ is even more foolish.
I understand that."IF" Christians actually PREACHED Love, than I might consider becoming a Christian.
Because Christ is preached (or at least should be) and his love is preached, which is what he did on the cross to redeem humanity.Love may be mentioned, but it's not preached.
If you're not a born-again believer in the Holy Trinity, you cannot claim to know the "heart of Christ".The Heart of Christ as I experience Him is "Infinite Divine Compassion/Activated". I think that's well worth obeying.
The world is culture not the earth. The earth still solely belongs to God. Christ has dominion over all.the "world" isn't meant to be an an Idol,
The 'god' of this world is (satan)
"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."
Being Christ-Like has everything to do with becoming a more human, Human Being.Being Christ-Like has nothing to do with being human,
It's about Walking in the Spirit, Not the Flesh
The flesh like the world is fallen to sin
What "spirit" are you talking of? There is more than one.Being Christ-Like has everything to do with becoming a more human, Human Being.
It's the Human soul that's being touched, not it's flesh. Weird to me that you even went there.
And if not through Love, how can one even Walk in the Spirit. It can't be done.
To be over come by the Spirit is to be completely and totally absorbed by Love.
the Earth doesn't need sustained by us.Being Christ-Like has everything to do with becoming a more human, Human Being.
It's the Human soul that's being touched, not it's flesh. Weird to me that you even went there.
And if not through Love, how can one even Walk in the Spirit. It can't be done.

The Cambrian explosion took place over about 30 million years. It was quick in a geological timescale, but in virtually any other time scale, it took a long time. SOURCEThat does not explain things as well as you think. The Cambrian Explosion is ONE thing that proves the creation of information in a very short time frame that natural evolution cannot make sense of.
I've yet to see an evolutionary biologist who claims that evolution is directed by some intelligent entity.Yes, Evolutionary Biologists believe that evolution is guided, but they have no answer on how it is guided. So ID solves that problem.
No. But if science does come up with a contradiction, it is that idea of investigation and testing things that resolves it.Are you saying science never contradicts itself? Because that seems to be what you are implying. And that still doesn't answer the question of why there cannot be an ultimate mind, which you seem reluctant to talk about.
And how does that work? If you are out walking through the woods at night and you see some glowing shape movie and you decide it's a ghost, how do you make sure your interpretation is correct?By observation, duh.
How could an expertise in physics inform them that God is real when the existence of God is not a physics problem? The best they can do is say, "Physics doesn't have an answer to this particular question, but my religious faith does, so I'm going to accept that my religious faith is correct.Their expertise in physics leads them to the conclusion a god exists. So you can say they are talking outside of their field, but their field is what leads them to the conclusion that science cannot explain everything. Please deal with this.
I've yet to see one like that. In any case, the smae reasoning would suggest your position is just as theoretical. That's a theory, not proof. I say that because there are some NDEs that cannot be reduced to naturalistic explanations.
Anecdote isn't evidence.Like the woman born blind who had an NDE and when she was dead she saw what someone looked like and described them perfectly.
I'd be happy to. Such a discussion would probably take this thread off topic, but if you'd like to start a thread specifically on the historical evidence for the resurrection of Christ (so it won't be moved into a general apologetics area which, as a non-Christian, I'm not allowed to post in), I'll be happy to join in.Sure. You want to start with the historicity of the resurrection of Christ?
The only thing I can think of is Pipp@ who posted hour long videos without a summary, and when I asked her to provide such a summary, her answer went around and around until it came back to, "Just watch the video."Several people have provided resources to you that you decline to check out.
Once again, I see lots of claims, but no support. They are, actually. Not that the difference would be anything you care about with your current philosophical, conceptual outlook. But Christianity is different.
Go for it @Jesse Dornfeld if you're up to the task. But be aware the evidence will be overlooked or disputed no matter how convincing it is. I personally don't have the energy for such nonsense.Sure. You want to start with the historicity of the resurrection of Christ?
Again, kind of what you like to do? If you can't even accept basic science like the DNA and gene mutation explanation that Ken Ham gave then no one can help you. If you want proof of God go do your own experiments instead of getting on a Christian site demanding proof of something you don't think exists in the first place. The only thing I can think of is Pipp@ who posted hour long videos without a summary, and when I asked her to provide such a summary, her answer went around and around until it came back to, "Just watch the video."
God put His wisdom into all of Creation. It can't be otherwise because God can not limit nor bound up His reach. No, he put that wisdom into us. humans were made in his image, not the earth.
And what does Christ say about the state of the Earth? You misunderstood. I said we're not meant to "listen to the earth" we are meant to listen to Christ who has dominion over everything, including the earth. Go back to the OP and read the scriptures. Perhaps watch the video too, if you haven't done so already.
I think the Women Christian Mystic Marguerite Porete has it right. She wrote that there are two churches. One she called the High Holy Church. That church preached Love. The other she called the Little Holy Church. That church preaches rules, laws and order. That's where most churches are today. I think that's important insight. It turns out that the Little Holy Church burned Marguerite Porete at the stake. Now today burning at the stake is no longer done, but it sure isn't preaching Love. I don't have to jump far to see that if the church actually preached Love that today's world would be much different.I understand that.
Because Christ is preached (or at least should be) and his love is preached, which is what he did on the cross to redeem humanity.
When you sit in Jesus, experiencing Him, what comes across to you as the "Heart of Christ"?If you're not a born-again believer in the Holy Trinity, you cannot claim to know the "heart of Christ".
The Earth needs to be treated by us like the garden that she is.the Earth doesn't need sustained by us.
You brought up "Walking in the Spirit". I was assuming the Holy Spirit. Was I wrong? What "spirit" are you talking of? There is more than one.
A bit rich of you to say I should accept Ken Hamm's explanation, yet other scientists with far more specialized qualifications than him say that he's wrong and yet you claim they should be ignored just because they disagree with you.Again, kind of what you like to do? If you can't even accept basic science like the DNA and gene mutation explanation that Ken Ham gave then no one can help you. If you want proof of God go do your own experiments instead of getting on a Christian site demanding proof of something you don't think exists in the first place.
Again Read RevelationsExcuses not to listen to what God is telling us about the Earth.
I was responding to your assumption that we "listen to the earth" and not God himself (who does speak to us through his Son btw) but I'm not clear if you understand the Holy Trinity or believe in it or not. Do you?God put His wisdom into all of Creation. It can't be otherwise because God can not limit nor bound up His reach.
We're in a fallen world (sin) against the creator. That's what the cross is all about. Salvation and sanctification is necessary to be born of the Holy Spirit. It's Gods work in us, not something we can do ourselves. He will create a new earth in the end.And what does Christ say about the state of the Earth?
Why agree with a human perspective when Christ (God) said the exact same thing himself in the Holy Bible?I think the Women Christian Mystic Marguerite Porete has it right. She wrote that there are two churches. One she called the High Holy Church. That church preached Love. The other she called the Little Holy Church.
Love (but not emotion like humans feel) it's much bigger than that. Kindness, mercy, compassion. Sometimes disappointment when I'm being convicted of sin and I don't listen to his promptings. A loving Father, a close friend. When you sit in Jesus, experiencing Him, what comes across to you as the "Heart of Christ"?
Absolutely not, but being born of the Holy Spirit goes with salvation and sanctification. It's given by God through this process, to willing believers who obey his word. You brought up "Walking in the Spirit". I was assuming the Holy Spirit. Was I wrong?
Were those "more qualified scientists" atheists perhaps?A bit rich of you to say I should accept Ken Hamm's explanation, yet other scientists with far more specialized qualifications than him say that he's wrong and yet you claim they should be ignored just because they disagree with you.
