Did God reveal

As God called me to Ministry I believe He revealed what to expect. I talk to one pastor who said God never did that with him. So I'm wondering did God reveal to you about your ministry or did it just fall into place.

I will not share what God has showed me but I will say I never thought I would be the one called to do it.

God works differently with each of us... not many heroes of faith in the Bible even had the same experience...

One got a burning bush...
Another got an earthquake
One more got a vision of Heaven...
Etc

Point being is that God will always reveal his will to you in whatever form or manner he chooses. Asking for confirmation is not a bad thing, but we should be careful to say that since God didn't tell this person or that person this same way then it can't be of God.

Remember God used even a donkey to speak his will.

If you are unsure about it, seek him and do not stop asking until you get that inner confirmation of the Holy Spirit.

Also you must think of yourself with sober judgement.

To say I'll be around the world ministering is a pretty big claim. Don't know wh God called me to begin with. I feel I have nothing to offer. But I do desire to do His will.

I kept His word and never denied His name.

I agree with the above and God always responds differently to each person. I'm just trying not to get swallowed by a whale atm because HE knows I am stubborn, yet submissive.

I was called, tried to do it all on my own, outside of the support of a Christian community. Pow! We live and learn when we listen to Him.

God gave my wife dreams about us moving here to Colorado to join the Ministry. I was going to school to become a computer programmer, and about 2 years into my schooling, God started putting it on my heart (actually he did it much earlier but I ignored it) to join the Ministry. My first thought was, "Pastors don't make any money," and so I dismissed the idea, and went to school for something that made alot more money. Long story short, I chose to join the ministry, rather than do computer programming. As with you, God has given me a rough idea of what to expect, but I do know which position in the 5 fold ministry he has called my wife and I to be in (Missionary). Like others have said, God will reveal things differently to people, but I honest believe that if you are called into the Ministry you will know. It isn't something that just falls into place. It will be something that is in your heart (whether you accept it at first or not), or something you begin to desire, but it will never be by accident. Like you, I felt like I had nothing to offer as well, but that statement alone makes you perfect for the ministry. That way when things begin to happen, you will not be able to take credit for any of it. You won't be able to take credit for your own success in the ministry. I am a horrible public speaker, I stutter, I freeze, I get super nervous, but by the grace of God, I will one day be ministering to hundreds of thousands of people, something I could have never done on my own.

Don;t worry, in time God will show you more of what he has called you to do. Just be patient, and take everything one step at a time. God reveals things to us one step at a time, only because if you are not faithful to complete the first step how will you then be faithful to do step 2-10. My first step was to move to Colorado and study under my current pastor. Hope that makes sense.

Aim towards what you see, it may not be tomorrow, yet it may. Don't spend your time worrying about it just start doing it. I asked God are you called he gave me a huge "yes", I feel it is God any way.

I would always ask Him to show me with a tick, or a cross whether he wanted me to share that day. A tick meant go ahead, a cross meant no not today. It is just the way I did it. When I ask the LORD should you be preaching, he gave me a picture of a huge tick, and an impression that it was a definite big Yes go ahead.

That's awesome. I've been pulled for twelve yrs to do this. Got set back by OCD and a fear I was at Gods Judgement. After awhile I learned how to cope with my anxiety.

Right now I'm dealing with benzo withdrawal in which it is a struggle everyday. Will you also ask the Lord will I get better in time so I can fulfill these calling.? See benzo withdrawals last around nine months and are very enduring.

I just want to know will I make it through it to do what my dreams want and that's to fulfill Gods plan for my life.

Umm I don't know why you would post this but God has told ppl what to expect. I know one famous teacherGod told them t would happen and it did,

Does God actually give you a picture or do you see a picture in your minds eye and believe it was Gods answer.


See I used to think that I could speak to God like this.

I would say I love you God and I would say I love you back by faith believing that God told me that He loved me.
I understand now the importance of the Word of God. That thT is where we hear him. But as for you it would be neat to have God just show me something and I know exactly what God wants to do.

God speaks to us all differently. I didn't realize that a lot of my friends from church never heard him audibly. As for me, the day I was saved, God showed me a vision of my calling. I knew it was him because at the time it was something that I did not want to do and it was something that I, at the moment, hated doing. I wrestled with it for a long time, trying to bargain for something better, but he, in time, gave me the desire.

I would just keep praying about it and be responsive of when you feel him near. Bill Johnson says that whenever you feel the holy spirit, take note of what you're doing, how you feel about it, and try to find the message that God is trying to give to you.
