Did God appear to Solomon twice?

Twice in scripture we have a record of the Lord appearing to Solomon, both at Gibeon in 1 Chronicles 1:1-12 and in 1 Kings 3:5-14. I had always thought this was one occurrence recorded twice in scripture but am posed with the thought for the first time that the Lord appeared twice to him.

It looks like once to me. What makes you think these are separate appearances?

This Bible Study I'm doing. In the curricula it asks about the second appearance but now I have solved the problem. It seems they made a mistake in the order of the reading and when they posed the question. God does appear to Solomon a second time but it is later, after the temple was constructed and after his prayer then.

2 Chronicles 7:11 When Solomon had finished the temple of the LORD and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the LORD and in his own palace, 12 the LORD appeared to him at night and said:
"I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices........

The writers of the Bible study messed up, that's all.
