  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My baby has always been a skinni mini(he is in 25% weight, 90% height at each doctor's appointment which if you don't know what that means, means he's lighter than most but way taller than most), but he has always graduated to the next size before the packages say he should. I have never understood it. He is now in size 5 rated for "27 pounds +" and he is only 20 pounds. When the diapers start leaking, switch to the next size. I always know its almost time to switch when the nighttime diaper starts leaking.... then we buy the next size and use it for overnight, and use up the smaller size during the day when he's changed more often. Works out pretty good. :)

Someone on this board mentioned a baby's bottom being the best judge of diaper size and I am learning that to be true! Christian has a small rear and little waist, so we are always in a smaller diaper size then we should be (he wore newborns for over a month!). He is 4 months old now and still happily in 1's (but we put him in 2's at night, tightened down well, just because they absorb more)

Its very inaccurate for abby. There is a general window where it probably is accurate, but abby is a tall lean baby. When she was the appropriate weight for size 2 diapers they were literally falling off of her.

That's Andie to a "T"....she was just into size 3's when I started potty-training her! She got her skinny butt from her daddy!! :sorry:

Now I am thinking its me-- how I put the diapers on him. If the tabs don't meet in the middle right over his belly button then I consider the diaper too small. Do you guys have them meet in the middle? I always found when they stopped meeting the leaking began. What do you think?

NO! it is not accurate! DD and DS have well Big butts, so they were always in the next size early.

Babies (well it is easier to see in toddlers) who 'have no butt' fit the size the way they say.

Good news is since they have a butt now they will fit jeans and underware a bit better when older.

But no the tabs do not need to meet in the middle. But if they leak go for it, just know they will not meet when he is bigger. (less you find someone that makes size 7 diapers!) YOu might find it easier to change brands, some brands fit some butts better than others.

I like the stretchy tabs of Huggies too, but we use either brand. My son's pants ALWAYS come off of him and I am not sure what I will do in the fall. During the summer he has just been wearing onesies and sometimes his overall shorts, but when it gets colder and he needs pants I'm not sure how to keep them on him. They really just fall right off, so he ends up running around in his shirt (thus funny story in other thread). It should be interesting.... too bad no belts for babies...
