From what I understand it attempts to be purely experiential, which is a bit self-contradictory if they have it for a rule, but then..... It is not an attempt at rational belief, apparently equating rational with non-faith.

It is far from Biblical, but can be seductive.

What is Dialectical Theology and how does it differ from other theologies?
Coming as a reaction to Protestant liberalism, dialectical theology, sometimes called the theology of crisis, appeared as a movement among European Protestant theologians right after World War I. It is represented in the works of K. Barth, F. Gogarten, E. Thurneysen, E. Brunner, and R. Bultmann. Dialectical Theology | Encyclopedia.com

I thought it was different from experiencialism, at least as regards some forms of dialectic theology. For instance Donald Bloesch in his volume on the Holy Spirit describes several recent developments in theological thought. When he gets to Karl Barth he writes : "The experientialist approach of Schleiermacher and H. Wheeler Robinson was called into serious question by Karl Barth, who insisted that we gain valid knowledge of God only through God's self revelation in Jesus Christ."

Maybe Barth is not a dialectical theologian (but I thought he was) or maybe there are other forms of dialectical theology?

Since being rather severely put off by Kierkegaard, I haven't paid much attention to that whole area of thinking. You are probably right.

Barth seems to be saying there is no way (via nature or reason) from man to God, but only a way from God to man via Jesus Christ. But does God not reveal himself through nature and reason enough to leave us with no excuse, ie. no one will be able to say I never knew God existed?
