  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey

You know, I want to get some speed and night shots. But, speed takes lots of light, and night shots take lots of light too...

I am not sure how to go about the night shots on my digital camera..
and, early in the morning, when I want to catch a bird flying across the early morning lake with a reflection. the birds are coming out blurry and sometimes very dark.

All of this is with my digital camera..
now, I have a 35 minolta.. and a k-1000 pentax.. but, hey.. with my digital.. I can take hundreds of pictures and not spend the money on developing.. but with the 35m.. that would cost me a bunch. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a great place to develop that you have learn to trust? How does it work.. can I get my pics online?

Hey,

First, what kind of digital camera do you have? A point-and-shoot or an SLR? Night time shots can be done with a tri-pod and slower shutter speed. You seem to know what you are doing, so you might already know this.

I may be a little biased, but I run a photo lab. I have a website that people can upload digital files to for the purpose of making prints. I can also develop film. And scanning the film isn't that expensive in and of itself, but by the time you buy the film and pay to develop and scan it, you have spent quite a bit....especially if you are doing multiple rolls.

Take all that money you would spend on film and get a digital SLR (if you don't have one already) that will do these special shots for you. I bought a Canon Digital Rebel about 2 months ago and LOVE it. I can't tell you how much money I have saved on film and processing, and it costs me less since I do it myself.

My website is www.theprofessionallab.com.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
