Back in December I was given a copy of the Orthodox Study Bible after expressing interest in reading a translation of the LXX. Since then I've been using it as my main Bible, reading everything including the notes and have really enjoyed and benefited from the extra details found in the Deuterocanical books. Any thoughts on reading the Deuterocanical books?

Yours in the Lord,

jm

I've been dabbling in the Apocrypha in my New Cambridge Paragraph Bible. As an adjunct to the M'Cheyne 1 year reading plan. I confess that while I've been absolutely faithful in my M'Cheyne reading plan, I've missed days with the Apocryphal writings. Having never read them before, I want to include them since, while not canonical, they cover the 400 years of history between Malachi and Matthew.

Hey Jimmy, good to know I'm not alone. I wonder what the Anglicans had to say about the Deuterocanonical works since they include them in their liturgical reading...?

Here's a reading plan that includes all of the book of the LXX.

@LordDuncanBurneWilke The LXX contains books, an extra canon of scripture that is not considered authoritative in any way by Protestants. RC's view it as helpful, useful, etc. EO's view it as scripture.
