Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Gen 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
many don't even see the meaning of this, some i've heard even say that the serpent told the truth.
What were their eyes opened to, they had all good and perfection, they had all they could ever need, they were in what is often refered to as paradise.
Their eyes were opened but to sin, but to evil, evil came into existence and into the knowledge of their mind.
Their eyes were opened to nothing good as if they were missing any thing, they had all good in perfection, created at the hand of God.
Sin came into the world because of this and fell on all men, death came into the world, the evilness and destructiveness of sin, all by folllowing the creature instead of the Creator.
Paradise, perfection was no more, the life where sin and the evilness it brings was non existent, this was no more, but from the moment they disobeyed the Word of God, they saw their own nakedness, it never occured to them before, they were innocent in a perfect world, not even their minds knew evil.
But when they turned from the Word of God who had given them all things, a world of sin became their life, the world of perfection existed no longer, they had rejected it.
It was there for them, it was created for them, but they choose to eat that which was forbidden by the Word of God.
Christ tells us man shalll not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God.
He said this when tempted by satan, He did what Adam before Him didn't do.
For Adam didn't say no i live by the Word of God who's given me all things.
Can we resist temptation, can we live by and reap the perfectness God offers us.
Yes we can by folllowing Gods Word, it's there for our good, it's there to cleanse our ways.
Why eat of that that is forbidden which will bring forth destruction, when we can feed from the word of God in truth.
God forbids we do certain things, and God shows us how to walk in His ways, in His ways is perfection, that has been shown from the very beginning, that's what He wants to give us, why will we reject all the perfection He offers us, to follow the word of another who tells us they can offer greater than God in disobeying Him as if He holds something from us, but really He offers us all.
Adam and Eve had perfection, they only had to obey the Word of God.
But some say why, why put this temptation before them, why not can not God do as pleases and by His wisdom choose how to give man His pure perfect love.
If God who is mighty and wise creates man and wants to give His creations everything, wants them to rule in His kingdom, wants them to inherit all that is of Him, all the greatness and pureness and perfection He and only He can offer.
Does He want someone in His kingdom who is going to rebel, who doesn't want to obey His Word, but maybe wants to be greater than God Himself, and choose his own ways instead of Gods, who would corrupt His kingdom, and would rather rule by His own corruptness and not the perfection of the only true wise perfect God.
God is the ruler, Gods ways are perfect, He is the one and His ways we bow to, it all comes from Him, everything that is good, all perfection, true untainted love, true wisdom, the true gift of life.
Can we love God in all He is, but then say i know better, i can decide a better way than God as shown, or even listen to someone else who is only as ourselves a creation of God and not the perfect God.
It's His ways that are perfect and only His.
