Does anybody on the website have any Scripture or any other Holy Book proverb that speaks to the value of human life? I am lobbying in my state against euthanasia because it's a slippery slope that society need not tread down.

I'd like to hear more about how it's a slippery slope.

It's good to see hating your fellow man is still alive and well.

I don't know of any books, so you may have to do the research yourself.

You can see from 2 Samuel 1:2-16 that assisted suicide is, biblically, the same as murder, and further research will show the only people who committed suicide in the Bible weren't exactly committed to serving God.

Whenever someone is in such despair that they become suicidal, it is to those close to give them encouragement and love and support through their trial.

God is not too small to deal with what ails us. We are all called to carry our cross, and we should help those in need to carry whatever cross they are called to bear, until the hour Christ calls them home.

Euthanasia should always be illegal, assisted dying is a different matter. A person should be permitted to die, with help if necessary, if their condition, physical or mental, is intolerable and cannot be rectified.

That's what hospice is for because they know exactly how to dose the morphine so that a person is not lucid. Govt by virtue of its slippery slope nature is basically saying that the people who work for hospice are inferior in this craft, that govt is better & that they can wipe away every tear from every eye.

I don’t see how you reached that conclusion from the post you’re replying to given that he made no mention of the government being involved beyond passing the law.

Laws get passed by the govt. hello. Citizens don't pass laws on their own. Modus operandi always at work on the side of the far left. Population control as it relates to energy grid, maybe. Controlling part of the healthcare budget, possible. We have a procedure-it's called hospice. The govt in hearing from some constituents who are very emotional on the issue is all too eager to remove that burden from them so they can appear like they have solutions to everything that goes a wry in life. Everyone runs to the govt. Govt does not desire to recognize those wings of society that may actually be good at something. The govt in effect wants to be God.

Right, the content of the post is irrelevant. Just need to grind that ax.

People should absolutely have the legal right to choose to die on their own terms. Period!

Choosing when and how one dies, even with assistance, is not euthanasia.
They can commit suicide but they need not involve any 3rd party to bear the instrument.

Allowing a physician to prescribe a pill is merciful for the terminally ill.
