Does Satan have descendants, apart from Eve's descendants? When God was talking to the serpent, he told him that he'd put enmity between his offspring and Eve's. It seems like Satan has descendants apart from Eve's descendants. If that's the case, are those the children of the devil and are they destined to go to Hell?

We also learn that the offspring of the serpent are not literal, but figurative.

Actually, there is a gap in Genesis where the dimension of time becomes relevant only in the way that timelessness does become relevant to time ?? We just do not think in those terms of things only happening in the "now", without past or future, but science theory shows us that it and more unknown dimensions exist without the knowledge of man.
When a third of the angels were cast down to earth after rebelling with Lucifer against the throne of God, where that fits in to the history of man is only shown by what is written in the scriptures - and it isn't that much. Could satan have established himself on earth and caused the void and chaos that was there before God changed it for mankind's sake. Basically, anyone who has the power over time and eternity can do just about what they want with historical events. I see this illustrated with science fiction stories all the time, based on scientific theory, yet when people apply this, thinking of the possibilities that God or a spiritual being with great power like the devils, people suddenly become narrow minded as to the possible things that might be able to be done for good by God or for by deception and evil - such as in the devil's case. There is a lot of speculation that may be fun to think about, but it still draws away from God's intention in creating man and putting him in a garden with a devil. Therein lies a formula for some kind of better and glorious ending. Obviously, God did not give us a complete manual of history and the happenings of the devil, but what He wants us to strive for in love, achieving love with the gift of life He has given us as His creation and through the divine nature of His Son who has redeemed all who will come to Him. By letting evil exist through free will, God has set in motion events that will end with great glory, with love existing, and evil being finally defeated. Nothing can be lost to Him - no life or soul that does not choose to be so.
Obviously, evil came about in the brother of Abel, and Cains descendants were later carried on through Noah's son, Japeth, in whom later comes Magog and others through history that have come up under the side of evil - Esau and the Edomites for another important one who is related to Jacob as twin brother but losing his birthright to the younger. Their names are spoken of repeatedly in the prophecies for the end times, but knowing and understanding the origins and names is a great lot of work. Isaac Newton, the genuis scientist who desribed gravity in mathematical terms, wrote a great work on the prophecies of God in the Bible, especially the book of Daniel. It is probably the definative work, if interested, and includes some of this type of info.
Using a commentary along with these verses helps a lot, too. Like Matthew Henry, John Gill, or Barnes commentaries - all free to use online.

First, the bible (especially the OT) is written in a concrete language of word-picture that is...when the bible describes something it does it the form of a picture that everyone can see. In the case of describing God, the OT would describe Him as Eagle's wings, Rock, Shade, Living Water, Honey, etc...this deed not mean God was literally a Rock, etc...but it imput theological meaning of God's charactor relationally through their interaction with such things...for example, in the desert a person can not live with out living water...the dead water or the water that was stored in pits was nortous for killing people and animals, but living water came freely and gentle moving from wells, streams, and such sustained life. Also in the desert, there are not many sweet things and there are not many flowers...so then when people came across the incredible rare thing like honey that was sweet...they said that is what is like...that incrediblely rare thing that sweetens your life.

Now, God is our father in that He teaches us to become like Him. The teacher disciple relationship in the bible is the father son relationship. When humans learn from God how to live and function in the world, they are the offspring of God. In the case of the offspring of snake, the snake decieved, tempted, wanted to destory humanity, make the word subect to him, and replace God. The humans that did not follow God's path become the offspring of the snake.

Dear Space, Satan is the Chief Spirit of Evil, he was good to start with, but his pride brought him low. He fell from Heaven and is now the adversary of God, all Evil emanates from him and those who follow him. Very good & serious question. I just don’t think it can be answered with a short sweet ear tickling, cotton candy, ohhhh… I just wan to make you feel good, Jesus loves everyone answer. So bare with me a little while. Eternal life or eternal punishment is a stake here.
If you are not a believer as of yet, I pray the Lord will enlighten your eyes, mind & heart by His Spirit for the truth. If you are truly seeking answers, because you do believe there is a true God, and you want to know the truth, then, I for one am encouraged of the Spirits work in you, for no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 12:3), in other words, it is not mans will that they can say this, although many will say because of their free will, they choose Christ, or let Jesus into their hearts, or did any number of self works (as prescribed by church councils, preachers…mans imaginations), thus is the reason they say Jesus is Lord, not even realizing, receiving the Lords work as their own, taking His glory unto themselves, which I must warn, this pride / self will (sin) God hates (see Lk 16:15, Dan 4:35, 1 Jn 3:18, Eph 1:6). If you are simply curious, I again warn you as this could be blasphemy against God as even the Psalmist David at Psalm 138:2, states, “For You (God) have magnified Your Word above all Your name.” So If God esteems His word above even his own name… how much more should we? And all this I have said that…see 1Jn 4:1&2

NO. All mankind is under the headship of fallen Adam as our federal head, thus all man are born children of wrath (Satan’s Children) Eph 2:3. We are all born sinners…yes, even children are dead in sin as soon as they are born. Pslm 51:5, Gen 8:21, There are no other lines of descendants other than through Adam & Eve. Don’t let anyone try to convince you other wise…you won’t find this false teaching anywhere in scripture. Don’t let anyone convince you, children are not sinners until an age of accountability, this too is no where in scripture…if this be true then we should all kill the children before they reach that age so as not to let them go to hell…see how stupid that kind of thinking is. Of course then comes in the free-will lies…another time. Any way all man is dead in sin at birth and if left to themselves, hell is where they are already committed, because of Adam & Eves fall into sin, thus the penalty of eternal wrath was passed on to all their posterity.

Here we see the condition of all mankind, God now pronounces what He will do… put enmity (hate) between man and the woman. The woman represents His church. (not Mary as Rome would say), Thus man (our natures at birth) hates God. By His church, this is not meant the entire visible church here on earth (for there are many false churches, religions … cults which call themselves children of God / church) I say His church because it is the invisible church only known to Himself and to whom the Son wills to reveal Him-God (Matt 11:25 -27). In other words, those whom are born dead in sin hate the truth, God & His Kingdom, and those whom are born again of God, the invisible church, whom the Son has revealed the Father to, hate sin, the world, flesh & the devil.

True, as you can see from above, God re-borns his children (spiritually) into His kingdom…Adapts them, as the Son wills to reveal. (Not as mans free will wills to come) (Jn 6:44) Nor does He reveal Himself to all man, thus you have satans descendants and Eve’s. Study the “Covenant of Redemption”.

Yes. It stands to reason if God’s children are pre-destined to eternal life (Acts 13:48, Rom 8:28-30 notice the past tense, accomplished, not something yet to be done, Eph 1:4-14 again notice the past tense and His will not ours) then others are not. Do understand the others are destined to hell not because they are actually pre-destined to eternal punishment, but because that’s where they were already born into, thus God simply leaves them alone and allows them to continue to sin themselves into hell. Thus you should now understand what it means when John 3 says, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. So when one is searching for the truth…it’s a good sign they are already…born of God…or else they wouldn’t be seeking the truth. This too is contrary to the modern day false church’s teachings which teach the decision is yours to be born again.

Here we see that Gods kingdom will prevail and triumph over satan, which is not that the church (His Kingdom) will, as in the future, but already has. We must remember that God was not only eternity past, but is eternity future already, thus everything in Gods plan is already completed, yet He is omnipresent presently bringing about all that he has determined from the foundation of the world…eternity past. Do also notice the “he” at will crush your head(satans), the “he” here now represents Christ – His bride the church - Christ will crush satans head, and satan will try to destroy the church but to no avail only striking Christ’s heel. We can say satan is already defeated because Christ’s last words on the cross was “it is finished”. Not that he was done walking the earth and it’s time to go, but satan is now in the depths of hell, and most importantly God’s children are now redeemed…saved…purchased…not given the choice to choose Him or reject Him. This is the good news of the gospel.

So let me conclude.
If you owed the bank a hundred million trillion dollars (representing your sin debt – sin being the breaking of God’s holy laws and not obeying the command to be perfect as He is perfect – that’s the standard God has set… doing the best you can won’t cut it…face it we are guilty in Gods court ) how long would you have to work to pay it off??? You couldn’t. But because of our sin, this is what we owe God. So one day you see your banker and he say congratulations… you say, for what? He says…someone came in and paid off your debt! WOW…how hard did you have to work to pay it off? You didn’t have to work at all(didn’t even have to make a choice)! You say great and are rejoicing! But now you want to know who would do such a thing, so you ask the banker….who did this and when did He do this? He says a man named Jesus and He did it 2007 years ago! Jesus you say!!!... where can I find this Jesus…He says…you can’t… but he just found you! But, But, But…don’t I have to make a choice, exercise my free will??? Rejoice the choice has been made if you are a child of God! This should cause you to ask even more questions…which for now I must leave for the Spirit to do His work. For it is He that works in you to do, both to will and to do for His good pleasure…if you are His (Phil 2:13)

So now what are you going to do (Unconverted readers?)? Rack up some more debt or repent and give thanks, praise Him, glorify Him, worship Him? Not to be saved (works/choice), but if you are His you are already saved (Grace - undeserved merit or favor).

Here the call, go fellowship with the saints / sheeps (1 Jn 1:3, Heb 10:25) Or coninue to graze with choice goats (for unbelievers)?

I believe, don't know, but have always thought it a reference to demons.

However, there is also this scripture: (Jesus is speaking.)

Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. Wouldn't "know good and evil" mean "to have sex with good and evil" when talking about the knowledge of good and evil? That was the case in the last three verses above.

Lets say that Adam is Abram, Eve is Sarai (the tree of life), and the serpent is Hagar (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil). Just as Eve took some fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and ate it and gave some to Adam and he ate it, Sarai knew she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar, who she took to her husband Abram to be his wife and he had sex with her.

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.

These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

When Adam had sex with Eve, she bore him Cain. It doesn't say that he had sex with Eve in order for her to bare him Abel. This is similar to Abram having sex with Hagar in order for her to bare him Ishmael and it not mentioning him not having sex with Sarai in order for her to bare him Isaac.

The first verse I posted says that all God created was very good. In that case, where's the evil at for a person to be a descendant of it? God saw all he created and it was all good. Unlike Adam and Eve seeing their nakedness, then making coverings to cover it up, and believing that there was evil in God's creation.

Here is a lesson from the Hebrew language. The Hebrew language is considered a poor language because it has fewer words than modern languages, but it has multiple means to words which made it rich in meaning.

When the bible says that we are to know God and have knowledge of God, it refers to both a mental and physical knowledge. It is believed that when a person lived the way God instructed they increased in the knowledge of God (ref to Listening to the Language of the Bible pages 5-6). So then, when God said that they gain knowledge of good and evil is that their purity of goodness was tainted by having done evil (living outside of the given teachings of life) which provoked condemnation from God and caused separation. Adam and Eve saw the nakedness of God’s way to be something to be ashamed of. They covered themselves up causing a separation. They blamed God, other humans, and creation (but not themselves) and took no responsibility which caused a separation. It was through their choices that separation occurred between God, each other, and the rest of creation when we were created to be harmony of existence without shame.

Now, God invokes a sexual revolution. God and humans are very sexual beings in that resulting separations caused by sin is being undone through the outworking of the promise of salvation and hope found in God given to us through the covenants. The act of sex is joining together parties which were apart, but this is not lust. We all don’t have carnal sex with each other, but we come into a harmonious relationship through the redemption of God in the Lamb.

In Covenants to Abram, God promised to make a great nation out of Abram (Gen 12). So the promise was to Abram that he would have an offspring that would grow into a great nation to be a blessing. But with Hagar, they thought that they will make their way through the flesh. But the promise of the seed was not to the flesh but by the spoken word of God. What was word of promise to Abraham and Sarah? Genesis 18:10Then the LORDsaid, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.” So then, it was through the purpose of election of God that mercy was shown to Isaac; so that he became a father of a great nation in order to be a blessing to the glory of God.

Lastly, Cain, Abel, Ishmael, Isaac, and all other humans where conceived through a man and woman knowing each other. The only birth of woman that was not from the seed of a man was Jesus Christ because He is actually God. The direction that you are headed is that people that are born to sexual union of man and woman are evil, but those who are born through the creation of God are good...but that is not the case because you arleady saw is that Adam and Eve sinned. Likewise, Isaac also sinned in that he refused to bless Jacob by the word of God; most likely because it was given to his wife.
