  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"…if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:26-27)

You realize this verse is referring to apostasy, right?

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Do you understand what grace does for us? It helps to keep us from sinning.

Didn't Paul say something about, "working out salvation with fear and trembling"? Meaning it can be lost.

One cannot receive, what one doesn’t believe...
I should think that would depend on what one is receiving. Status, a standing, for example, can be given without one even knowing it happened. Grace can be given without the recipient being aware of it.

When God changes spiritual death, the sinful will, into life, why should one demand that God ask permission? When one becomes a receptacle for the Spirit of God, it is not because he understood the terms of a contract, but because God decided to have mercy on him. Grace.

Faith, submission, repentance will follow, engendered by the Spirit of God, and genuine because they come from Him --not because WE are sincere.

The Gospel is the work of God, from first to last. Grace.

Hebrews 10:26-27 is plainly warning that if a believer sins willfully after being cleansed by the blood of Christ he will suffer the same consequence of the unbelieving adversaries; the scripture plainly states this without ambiguity and reinforces numerous parables spoken by the Lord during his earthly ministry.
