Romans 1:28-32
28 When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. 32 They are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

For Christians who struggle with sexual sin and lust, if they deliberately commit sexual immorality, does it make them in danger of having a depraved mind?

I recall some of your previous posts. You seem to want to worship Jesus Christ as God and therefore would not be given over to a depraved mind (see Romans 1)

May I suggest that you obsess about finding true love to deal with your compulsion for lust?

After all, lust is a poor substitute for true love.

As someone who was up until very recently constantly afflicted by it, quite frankly, yes. What we think builds up tendencies, and tendencies towards lust fuels itself into a baaaaaaad habit. But don't be afraid, God still loves you and wants to help you. Pray about it, seek forgiveness, and as a pastor I listened to on the subject said, in brief:

"When you're about to go and watch a pornographic flick, or look at pictures, or go and hit up 'so and so' for a 'good time', just remember to say 'Come on Jesus, let's go watch a movie!' or 'come on Jesus, we're gonna go hook up'."

Basically, remember that Christ is in you, even now, and when you do these things, you do them with Him indwelling you. My goodness, that was an eye opener. But if you feel guilty for it, just remember, the Lord forgave us all our sins at the Cross. Hope that helps.

JESUS gave us the LORDS PRAYER which many quote but fail to UNDERSTAND what IT is that they are praying. You need to go through this prayer slowly and think about what you are praying really means.

In your case have you ever thought what the LORD ment when you say the portion that says:

KEEP ME FROM TEMPTATION BUT DELIEVER ME FROM EVIL.

You are asking GOD to give you strength to resist temptation BUT when all else fails and you have not the ability to stop yourself you are asking GOD to take over and deliever you out from this EVIL.

You must UNDERSTAND that you are GOD'S CREATION. Do you really think HE made a mistake and didn't know what HE was doing? Read about King David, or Solomon, important men in GOD'S WORD. Yet they to could not be sinless when it came to sex. This is why you MUST have GOD'S GRACE to share in the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD. So now that you UNDERSTAND this, can you ever think you are better then what you might call the scum of the earth. So when you travel through life make sure to keep your nose towards the ground and your mind in GOD'S WORD, PRAYING for WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING which can ONLY be obtained as a GIFT from GOD.

The previous posts are good...I would only like to ask whether you are hurting others through your lust? Have you ever crossed the line with someone else or is this something which you have successfully limited to yourself? If the former is the case I would suggest turning yourself in to law enforcement. However, if you limit your urges to yourself or to having consensual relations with others I would say congratulations...you are human. Sometimes the worst thing you can do is beat yourself up to the point where you begin to rely on your own self abuse for pleasure. Sexual desire is normal, although pursuing it in inappropriate ways is wrong...especially when not consensual. Don't hurt anyone else by your lust...that's the first step. Figuring our where you lust is coming from and whether it is healthy or not is the second step. Accepting your healthy behavior or learning new and healthier ways to express your sexuality which are in keeping with your conscience is the third and final step.

Peace

Note the first verse you mentioned:

28 When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done.

I believe the key here is "refused to acknowledge God". It doesn't sound like you have "refused to acknowledge God" so perhaps "having a depraved mind" is not meant for Christians but for naysayers and mockers of God. This does not mean that Christians "don't deliberately commit sexual immorality" for we face the same temptations as the non-Christian, the difference is that we have the "indwelling of the Holy Spirit within us" and we know we are willfully sinning. How we handle the situation is a testament to whether we are allowing God to work through us to overcome our willful sin or whether we are putting our own lust before our Savior and minimize or try not and think about the Lord at these times".

Lust is an addiction but it can be overcome. I speak from experience.

May the power and love of Jesus help you overcome your human weakness. Thank you Jesus for what you are doing in the life of guitarintro.

You are still thinking far too much on "what sin have I done" in terms of imaginary sins. The Devil is behind much of that sort of thing.

You should stick to the teachings of Christ: Be careful on judging others... 'if you do not wish to be condemned, do not condemn others'.

Usually paranoid mindsets where someone is thinking they have done wrong when they have not - or it usually is not accounted as wrong - is simply because they judge others, condemn others. (Unfairly.)

Those condemnations eventually come back onto their own head.

We are saved because of faith in Jesus through the teachings of Jesus. That is, if you keep the words of Jesus, then Jesus remains in you for the world can not keep those words as the world is not of those words.

'There is now no condemnation in Christ' -- literally true statement.

The Devil is called the "accuser of the brethren". Why are we considered redeemed? Because of the Spirit of Jesus Christ indwelling -- the very same Jesus Christ whom Satan murdered on the Tree, and the very same Jesus Christ who rose on the third day and ascended to Heaven proving His triumph over all the powers of darkness.

Jesus saved all forms of sinners in the Gospel accounts, including prostitutes, criminals, etc. I don't personally believe anyone is depraved beyond the workings of the power of Lord Jesus. He can even save folks dying on the cross!
