mods feel free to put this one in the right place.

how do you make the pain to away after u have a wisdom tooth removed without taking so many pain pills? i'm trying not to take them because they cause ... constipation... ugg i hate that word. forgive me for saying it. hope i don't get in trouble for that.

anyway, any suggestions? cold rags? warm cloths? the dentist i went to spoke so fast and i keep calling but they are busy and my mum and dad are at work and so busy they don't have time for me.

There is an acupressure point just inside the ear which I have found to be effective against dental pain, if you keep rubbing it gently. It is located around the area marked for the "lumber spine" in this diagram.

ahh cool, sorry for late reply but i did look at that and all is well now i didn't use as many pain pills as i thought i would and i'm so happy about that too! yay!
thank you for the diagram. i've read about acupressure, vaguely (sp?) in my college books but this is awesome! in my books they didn't have pics, only words. wow!

FWIW, I understand the problem with pain pills. I had arthroscopic knee surgery 9 days ago and the worst part of recovery has been the side-effects of the pain meds.

I had mine out when I was 18. All I remember is taking Tylenol & putting ice on my cheek. The pain will go away within a few days. I was back at school in three days.
