  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Several masked men showed up waving Nazi flags and reportedly shouted antisemitic and racist slurs outside the American Legion Post 141 in Howell on Saturday during the play, according to CNN affiliate WXYZ.

Citing the sheriff’s office, The Detroit News reported the demonstrators left after being told to vacate the legion post’s parking lot, then ensued in a brief exchange of words with patrons while across the street.

The Anti-Defamation League’s regional office in Michigan said on social media it was “disgusted by the far-right extremists who praised Hitler and waved Nazi flags outside of an American Legion hosting the play.”

I wonder which group they could possibly be affiliated with? I mean, which other group are known for wearing black attire and concealing their faces while protesting to avoid being doxed? Whomever they are, they are definitely the real fascists. It would be truly ironic if they were a group that are trying to be "anti-facists."

If they were wearing masks and none of their identities have been released yet, not sure anyone can really speculate if they were actually far-right people, or far-left people pretending to be far-right people.

It wouldn't be the first time fringe infiltrator-actors have employed that tactic.

And there have been bidirectional "efforts" to make the other side look bad.

The Department of Homeland Security noted that "outside agitators" and "outside infiltrators" had been doing this quite a bit between 2018 and 2022. (which means that the DHS likely had infiltrators of their own in the organizations, otherwise how would they know that?...likely for the purposes of entrapment, but that's another topic altogether)

I'll go back and see if I can find the article again, I know I've posted it on here at least once before, but the report detailed that at one point, the "Oath Keepers" (a right wing militia group) and "Workers’ Solidarity Alliance" (a left wing anarchist group) both were simultaneously putting plants in each other's organizations to stir up trouble.

A real-life version of the dynamic in the movie "The Departed", so to speak.

If a Proud Boys member wants to make the other team look bad, all they've gotta do is buy a hammer & sickle hoodie online, and throw a brick during a protest. Likewise, if a member of the Occupy movement wanted to make conservatives look back, all they gotta do is show up publicly with a maga hat and a racist flag.
