I read the whole chapter...still dont see it. I do understand that the word "prince" can be understood as "angel," but from the way I read it, the messenger simply had things to take care of in Persia before coming to Daniel.
Moral of that is, all things work out in God's timing.Verse 21 tells me that angels can have differing opinions though.
Let me ask this, if Daniel was "on his guard" as you suggest to us, what difference would that have made?
Doesn't answer the question...what would have changed if Daniel had been "on his guard"
The more I read it, the more I think the messenger is actually Christ.
Do you not believe in spiritual warfare and the warnings about Satan in the Bible?
"Daniel 10:12-13
Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
12 Dont be afraid, Daniel, he said to me, for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your prayers were heard. I have come because of your prayers. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for 21 days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me after I had been left there with the kings of Persia. "
Make sure you are consantly on guard. For a answer to a prayer can be held up by demons.
It says the prince of Persia opposed (held him up) for 21 days. Last I checked humans weren't demons...unless we're referring to possession, and I see no evidence of that in the passage.
