  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Democratic strategist Theryn Bond said Wednesday that Vice President Kamala Harris should never consider another presidential run in the future following her loss to President-elect Donald Trump.

Harris reportedly has told her political advisers that she is “staying in the fight” and wants to consider her political options, including a possible presidential run in 2028 or the launch of a gubernatorial campaign in California, according to Politico. Bond told Newsmax hosts on “National Report” that Harris should cross her consideration for another presidential run off her list and distance herself from her previous advisers during her most recent campaign.

“[Her political ambitions should] not be to run for president again in 2028, please don’t,” Bond said. “I can’t really speak for governor of California. Californians seem to support her significantly, we haven’t yet be able to measure what that support looks like after this current run she just had. That may be the only thing that would make sense for her to consider, but another shot at the presidency, I hope she doesn’t. And if she is relying on those same advisers that advised her the first cycle, that is not who I would listen to.”

I would say that she should be free to run and compete with other candidates in primaries, but the democratic party doesn't seem too keen on primaries in general. It seems to me like they mostly have one pre-chosen candidate and then go through the motions, no matter how bad their chances.

Personally I don't believe it matters WHO they run ... if the democratic party doesn't move to the center they will be defeated. At this point they are no where near doing that.

Depending on what happens over the next 4 years will determine a lot on the future. Trump has some pretty bold policies in mind ... if implemented there will be a stark comparison ... and people will vote accordingly.

Trump won in 2024…maybe it’s time we get over that?

I have never seen so much analyzing about why they won from the side that won.

Likewise, I have never seen so much analyzing from the progressive left wing politicians and lame stream media failing to understand why they lost.

We’ll see what havoc Trump wreaks and where we go from there.

I predict that there won't be any havoc at all. I predict that the second term of Trump's presidency will be even more successful for the USA than was his first term.

I don’t consider his first successful.

Plenty of analyzing going on on the left also. They are blaming everybody else except themselves. The left should look into the rights analysis to see if there is some truth. Many here said that immigration was hurting some parts of America and trying to point out lies in our economic data. Because of tribalism, we are unwilling to listen to each other.

Honestly, I agree that she shouldn't run again. She's too moderate, and honestly, while I get that a lot of it is boomers refusing to let go of power, I think Gen X needs to start handing over power as well.
I think that to many Gen X members it feels like they never had any power handed to them that they could hand over in turn. It's just Boomers all the way.

Amen, get those old dinosaurs out of the government. This is why both Parties should be behind term limits, we don't need 20 or 30-year politicians complaining about the same policies from eons ago. Change the blood!
