How do we determine 'reality'? But another question is begging.

Is reality a per-existing constant like infinite matrix into which all concepts fit? Or is reality a microscopic point that is extrapolated and defined according to rules such that some things are real and some things are not, for each or all applications of the reality concept?

I believe reality has to be rational an logical; even the supernatural.

Is reality like time or a straight line which has no physical existence; a straight is the shortest distance between tow points; points have no physical existence, are merely defined by co-ordinances in a mathematical space system which does not have a physical existence. Do these thing exist only in the human mind, singularly, collectively. Protectively and receptively. Are there other definable/provable forms of existence besides the physical. Do thoughts exist or is it the human mind that exist and thoughts are included in that?

Interesting question.

But I suspect my answer won't fit your desired paradigm.

The material world is real. The spiritual realm is real. They are real because God created them. If He chose to stop sustaining them, they would cease to exist, and would no longer be real. But He does not purpose to abandon creation.

God is the ultimately reality. The great I Am. Who was, and is, and is to come.

Seems to me the philosophical wrangling of the subject is a fun mental game maybe, but - reality simply is what is, regardless of how we play at it with our minds.

Does the material world define real or does real define the material world?

In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God. Reality requires proof; that statement could be about Allah. For us God's identity is not revealed until the covenant with the House of Israel; and in Jesus confirming the covenant by fulfilling the prophesies, and by bringing the covenant to fruition. The fourth commandment contains the seal of God, a seal has four components, I can only remember two but I see the others when they are pointed out. The seal contains His territory, heaven and earth, and His title, God; but it still requires the whole covenant to distinguish the God of Israel from Allah.

The shedding of Christs blood with out the covenant does not prevent Jesus being the son of Allah. When they abrogate the Law, their God is undefined, they know not whom the worship.

Having a good understanding of reality helps to discern between true (established in and by the covenant) and false doctrine

Jesus Christ IS Truth. The material world became real when God created it.

Since you refer to "Allah" I'm guessing you refer to the Muslim religion? (Even Christians in Arabic-speaking countries refer to God as "Allah" but they mean God the Father, the first Person of the Holy Trinity, same as we do. One is a member of our parish.) Islam was not codified as a religion until after Christ. So the statement that Jesus could have been the "Son of Allah" (in the Muslim) sense - makes no sense. They don't believe it so either.

If we are going to accept anything the Scriptures say in trying to arrive at what is true, then the understanding of those who knew Christ and wrote the Scriptures should carry some weight.

As I said, my answer may not fit your paradigm. Philosophy is an unsafe means of arriving at Truth. Many philosophical arguments have led to rather strange conclusions. Darkened human hearts, to the degree we cannot even know, pursuing "the way which seems right to a man, but leads to death" is not the same firm foundation as I consider the Gospel itself.

It was an interesting question though. Perhaps someone else will indulge you.

Our problem is not to do with Paradigms, it is to do with communication, language and semantics, and you missed the points I made. If I had used other metaphors like Satan or any God and Son of perdition or son of the devil, my point would have still been missed.

I start by assuming the scriptures are correct but I also allow for the scripture being maliciously edited, but every Tom Dick and Harry reads different meaning into scripture anyway; ultimately the truth has to come directly from God.

Philosophy while not considered a Science is the science of extraction truth, and why it is dangerous is the same reason religion is dangerous; human nature.

My apologies for being unable to grasp your points. I hope you can discern what is reality then.

God be with you.
