Decorative implants in the eyeball

I just saw a report about somebody in LA doing decorative implants into the eyeball. What do you all think of this type of thing?

I think it's a waste of time, money and pain. It's amazing the crazy stuff people come up with. Now if they were to use this to make a persons eyeball to appear normal again, like from it being damaged from a previous accident or fire, then I'd applaud it, but if it's just for vanity... to make it look like a snakes eye, or tiger or other things... well... I'd think that there are better things people could do. Still... to each his own.

Why not just get some decorative contact lenses... why risk surgery ? Those contacts of the evil antagonist in "Last Action Hero" seemed pretty tight... I liked the "8-Ball" lense personally.

Sounds painful and nasty! Why nasty? Because the inside of your eye is made up of a jelly like material. No way would I want to dissect an eye or anything like that! lol! I'm kind of squeamish when it comes to stuff like blood and things anyway. Besides, I'd rather keep my body the way God made it. The only addition I need and have is clothing and eye glasses. I have had my ears pierced before but I rarely wear ear rings anymore because I am allergic to most ear rings.

Ick! I'd be willing to bet that having hooks put in a cut off arm is probably already happening somewhere in the world. I'm not sure though. I seen an edition of Taboo on National Geographic Channel around a week or two ago that was about body mutilation. The thing that I thought was the worst was getting yourself branded. I intend to keep my body parts intact. I think decorative contacts, tattoos, and piercings are okay, as long as you don't go too far with it. Like covering your body with tattoos or piercings so you can be in Guinness World Records Book, is just plain dumb. Soem do it for religious reasons, which I find rather dumb as well. Self mutilation is gross and ungodly. When I am 18, I am only getting one more piercing on each ear and a small tattoo of a dove on my upper back. I think that is okay.

(sorry, i read this article about a month ago on the folks putting the little silver hearts and such in the whites of their eyes. it's about as silly as the quotes i'm reminded of )
