  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The wages of sin are death. Jesus didn't free the condemned thieves or tell Pilot that he didn't have the right to take a life, so there is no Biblical prohibition to a society protecting itself from deadly predators by using the ultimate penalty. Putting these predators in prison for life gives them nothing to lose once they are there.

Suppose you were riding home from work with a friend. An officer makes a routine traffic stop and they find significant amounts of cocaine in the car. You didn't know anything about it, but the judge doesn't believe you. It will take months to clear your good name. Your "friend" won't tell the authorities anything unless they offer him a deal. In the mean time you end up in a cell with a killer who will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Do you want to be this man's girlfriend? Do you really believe that the killer will stop being a predator just because he is put in a situation where nobody around him can adequately defend themselves?

A little bit of rope goes a long way to setting things right. String up the terrorists and bury them in pigskin. A serious crime deserves a serious consequence.

I support the death penalty for older people who commit violent crimes.
I think a lot of young people make a mistake and can be reformed and should get light sentence and counseling. If they persist in a violent way with people then a stiff punishment. I'm glad the system is being changed back to non violent people don't get big jail time and a chance to redeem themselves. I really believe that's closer to what Jesus would do.

Is the death penalty really necessary being we are mortal. I it just vengence disguised by law ?
It's necessary. We should kill everyone who commits adultery, preferably by stoning and if they cut wood on a sabbath, kill 'em.
