Sure. I always find it very constructive and helpful when someone tells me what I think. I would be completely clueless as to what my thoughts are without you guys.It is your love of morality that sends you to Hells and the Animal Kingdoms. This is because you think that by being moral without God you are perfecting your lives and those around, but what you are really doing is becoming self-centered ("self-righteous" as the Christians say) and thinking that morality revolves around such petty things as "kindness" or "empathy." Notwithstanding these lies, you cannot encompass true morality because for that you need some measure at least of faith, devotion, and surrender (not to mention humility in the light of these great things).
That is my thought. Hope it was constructive.

Wonderbeat.
This thread really does have the appearance of a smear campaign against Atheists.
Are you going to answer any questions, enter a debate, or just sit back smug and respond with more nonsensical mumbo?
I thought that the philosophers were in the higher of the 3 gunas: (ignorance, passion and goodness). IIRC goodness is "sattva" meaning upright, straight, good and used in the Buddhist concept of Bodhisattva.
Well, in a sense you've got me beat! You have defeated me!
Atheists in my worldview cannot but be smeared to some extent.
How can faithlessness ever coexist with any love-abiding ethic?
I do not know. There is something so horrific in the thought of atheism that it seems (to my eye) to partake of the criminal element. That is not to say all atheists are criminals - only that they are dabbling in something demonic, something against God and the natural order....
I will try to respond in the future to some other posts but, like I said, you've got me beat! You beat Wonderbeat! Ha ha.
Atheism is not the necessary abandonment of faithfulness per se. It is merely the abandonment of belief in a God(s). It also does not deny the existence and relevance of love or the value of ethics nor their combination.Well, in a sense you've got me beat! You have defeated me!

What is so horrific within "the thought of" atheism, which only means by the way to disbelieve in God that it amounts to criminal element?I do not know. There is something so horrific in the thought of atheism that it seems (to my eye) to partake of the criminal element.
I don't believe in a God. I don't believe in demons, or the state of being 'demonic'. You can insist that we are dabbling in these things but you do so on no basis and with no evidence for it.That is not to say all atheists are criminals - only that they are dabbling in something demonic, something against God and the natural order....

Elevation in thought can only be gotten by surrendering one's intellect to a higher source. And that is how humanity grasps truth.

I'm always suspicious of any religion that makes spirituality look like some kind of board-game, what with all the (man-made) hoops one must jump through to get somewhere they already are.P.S.: you have to transcend all three modes of material nature before you get to the top. Even goodness is, in the end, a hindrance.
It seems to me a lot of thought nowadays is more rajasic and tamasic than anything else...

Argument from ignorance....

Atheists simply lack beliefs in deities. Of what would you convict them? There is something so horrific in the thought of atheism that it seems (to my eye) to partake of the criminal element.
So atheists are dabbling in something they don't believe in to be against something they don't believe to exist? Are you sure that you know what atheism is?That is not to say all atheists are criminals - only that they are dabbling in something demonic, something against God and the natural order.... Surrendering our intellect leads us into believing lies.
Did not humans get along, with love and ethics, prior to the invention of gods?
Atheists simply lack beliefs in deities. Of what would you convict them?
