Hey, everyone. I'm saying this as a fellow poster, not as a mod. Maybe it would be a good idea for both sides to calm down a little bit here and stop making personal comments about each other. Haven't we had enough strife lately? Let's stick to discussing issues rather than what others have done wrong.

At least some progress has been made. I don't believe it will last though.

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable--if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise--dwell on these things. (Php 4:8 HCSB)

How does this comment bring them any closer to Christ?

Does it edify them?

What have you done to help these people?

Woob,

Let it go, pray for strenght, ask for divine help, let Christ lead you into forgiving your brothers and sisters, dont let evil triumph....

I am trying to learn the ground rules here before I get myself into trouble--again!

Can I lose points just because someone, not meaning a mod does not like what I post, even if it is 100% accurate?

For example, if I say that EGW was a secret meat eater, but then was able to provide copies of her charging her many meals at Outback could someone report me, and I possibly get banned?

BTW that was a hypothetical (yeah, and pathetic, too) example.

Is the standard here someone getting offended, or being able to provide absolute truth, even if the posting seems outrageous to some?

No, the standard is not whether someone is offended; just because someone doesn't like what you say, that doesn't make it a flame. If you make a statement, such as the hypothetical example you gave above, and provide evidence to support it, that shouldn't be considered flaming, especially in the Progressive sub-forum, where only the sitewide rules apply, not the forum-specific guidelines that have been voted in for the rest of the SDA areas. (The Discussion and Debate sub-forum is a little more open than the main SDA forum but not as much as the Prog sub-forum. There are stickies at the top of each forum/sub-forum with the guidelines listed.) Now, you may get reported for saying negative things about Adventist beliefs because some people are easily offended. However, if you avoid personal attacks and stick to the issues and the evidence, the mods won't have any grounds to call your posts rule violations. You can also appeal any moderator actions that you believe are unfair, unlike at CARM.
