Deacons

1 Timothy 3:13

'For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a high standing and great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.'

My question us, why do they obtain great confidence in the faith if they serve well as deacons?

They are the tools used by God to supply the day-to-day needs of the faithful. God does very well at this, and they get to see just how well. It is much harder to believe God for a next meal when you are hungry than to believe God for a heaven you have never seen. The deacons get to watch God prove Himself.
