Davidic Worship

This is going to sound REALLY CRAZY. But at our church we have these Burning Fire Within Retreats. Thats where Men and also Women (at two seperate retreats) are sent off to learn about the Holy Spirit. They often get tongues, prophecy, and etc... At the last night there is a ceremony where the table leaders wash the feet of the guys/ gals of there table. Well, at the Men's Retreat- ALWAYS, after the Foot Washing Service there is a huge worship celebration. And the last 3 retreats- there has been Davidic worship. Let me explain. The Men are taking off there shirts, and sometimes pants- and dancing crazy. I have never done it, because I haven't felt the spirit leading me. But there seems to be some certain power to it. I don't know... I am just wondering are we the only church that is experincing this move of God?

Hi Superdave, I love that name . For me in my spirit is no (no to shirt and paints coming off) now that's me. Ask the lord to confirm it in his word and pray about it he WILL answer you. There have been people who love to run one time this young guy was running so fast he hit a real brick wall. Got up and there was nothing not one scratch and keep going. Again that's not me but God loves it when his people worship him

I am a little skeptical too... I mean really there is nothing wrong with it. I mean its all in front of other men... I just hope that the people that do it- are not being fleshly in doing it.

Hmm...the 'tearing off there clothes worship' doesn't sit will with me. But I wasn't there - hopwfully it doesn't happen at the womens retreat.

Gee, even David wasn't totally nude dancing. Myself, I would not be built up Spiritually by dancing nude with a bunch of women. I would be laughing hysterically, but I am that way, rofl. I feel something sinister about this form of worshipping the Lord. I know that we came into this world naked, but after Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, and saw that they were naked, they covered themselves. This is not the pre-sin in the garden times. What does that tell you?

I hear ya there!!!! I don't mind washing feet, but they better be in something besides their birthday suits.
