i think dave matthews band is amazing. some may have a different view on the music, but i love it. there music puts me in a great mood when im down. i think for anyone who hasent given them a try, should. there music appeals to all ages. =) god bless.

i will have to say that they have one of the most amazing set-ups for live music.... the music is so well rounded in the overall mix..... i would love to meet the sound engineer for them. and for live recordings no band tops them.... who ever they have orchestrating their live stuff is genius mixed with pure god-given talent for mixing music.... kudos for mr. kick butt sound engineer

Fantastic band. Great sound. A really big, full sound. Really nice sax and drums. My Crash CD is "well-loved" shall we say.

Their style and musicianship is incredible. They're definetly great musicians. Some of their lyrics are a little to be desired though.

One of the best bands around. I have all their cd's. As drfeelgood says "Crash" is one of the best. Dave's voice is just so amazing. Can be soothing and exciting. And that's true, there is no band around like them.

I really like their sound, but the thing that keeps me from getting their cd is the fact that they're pro-choice and I just don't agree with that.

The majority of musicians are probably pro-choice. I don't know much about pop but I would guess many musicians and singers have a pretty liberal stance on issues. It's seen as cool. Maybe I'm wrong-I wonder. Does the DMB state the pro-choice position in their music? This is a popular group i actually like. I love "Live at Rod Rocks(s)" I've not heard anything else by them.

I think DMB is great. I used to HATE them, but a few years ago I started dating this girl who loved them, and so I surprised her with tickets to a show....My hate turned to love at the show, and I was a hooked fan. I'm not too crazy about the crowd but the music is really really good. I think the best songs are Two-Step and Ants Marching. Great lyrics and great musical style. Who else uses a violin in rock and makes it sound awesome?

For a similar sound to DMB (Dave Matthews Band) have a listen to Big Daddy Weave. Whenever I listen to their music I am kind of reminded them.

While I think DMB fights for some good causes (racial harmony, etc.) a lot of their music supports stuff I'm totally against. Lyrically, they touch on a lot of issues that I'm sure many people here would disagree with: "Jimi Thing" is about marijuana, "Say Goodbye" is about a one night stand between two people alredy in relationships, and I could give many other examples. I used to really like them, but I've kind of gotten out of their music after I realized what a lot of it is about.

So, as Christians, I think we should think carefully about aligning ourselves with dave matthews. though dave is undoubtedly musically gifted, he fails to see where his talent comes from. just a thought...

It's tough to say what songs would be my favorite, as there are just way too many to choose from. Warehouse, Two Step, Dancing Nancies, the list goes on and on..
